Heavy Duty Training

I did not realise that this was such a heated topic, however I have used H.I.T and regular training, and they both work, it is just that the body in my opinion has a phenomonal way of recovering and adapting to the training routines, so changing the way we train can never be bad.

I do feel that I have had great gains on HIT and will carry on using it in conjuction with regualr training routines.

In my view we are all scientists experimenting with one of the most advanced technolgical designs ever made and that is the human body, the gym and weights and equipment to me are the stimuli and the formula is our routine, the components are our food and supplements, and hopefully we are the end result, even though we use chemical compunds like steroids, I have never had any bad experience using the juice in a sensible manner.

So to all the scientists at this forum, keep experimenting.

The way dorian incorporated it, i can see working, but you have to be so focused. You can't waste sets. I have read people interviewed who have said they worked out with him and it was the most insane workouts they have ever done. Now i am not familiar with Mentzer as much, because i just don't care to be, I know he advocates one set per excerciese every two weeks, and that just doesn't seem enought to me. One guy was on here getting angry with us because we didn't agree with him, and he said he did one set every three weeks, I don't get it.

If people get angry because we do not agree to their viewpoint, he obviously forgot the plot on freedom of speech and entitlement to ones own opinions, however I have also modified the Heavy duty training to suit my own needs, like Yates did and a few other people, I think Mentzers main target market was geared towards the more natural weight lifeter, but he did also train some Pro' Aaron Baker comes to mind, and Yates, but looking at these bodybuilders they all tok the basis of his principles and modified them to suit themselves.

So as I said in my previous post training is like a massive experiment, it is based in logic and rational, and hence we are the end result.

All of Mentzers work and studies revolve around naturally trained athletes, his is a program that looks to scientificly nailing down just what amount of exercise is needed to stimulate muscular development and the optimal amount of rest time. If you are on the juice, you may be wasting your time reading Mentzer because your recovery ability is 10 times better (but also wildly varies depending on cycles) than a natural athlete.

Very good points. These i think are often overlooked.

That being said, I think it is important to also look to many of the younger members here and the fact that they ought to probably naturally go as far as they can before they start to use any enhancing drugs... just as a health consideration.
