HELP PLEASE: What are the best practices & the latest research as it relates to TRT?

Hi Guys!

Brand new member to your forum :)

I was diagnosed with low-t about 12 months ago, had four Reandron IMs, subsequently stopped to restore fertility (a highly frustrating and slow process). Now have had some sperm stored so looking to get back on 'the juice'! My life will be better :wiggle:

It's likely been answered many times already... however very keen to hear your thoughts on the latest trends and methods in testosterone replacement therapy!

In NZ almost all the Dr's and Endos have no idea about hCG, 3rd gen AIs, supplementing with DHEA, sub-q, protecting glands, optmial dosing, etc :Pat:

Please post your thoughts, comments, links to existing threads, ideas, research links!

Cheers, Ralf!

Your problem isn't limited to NZ. there are very few docs that do know much about optimally treating it, apparently. :sulk:

seems the best route is usually test+AI+ Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), at adjusting doses to keep blood levels optimal.

been looking into DHEA myself, but haven't made any moves. not sure if it would help much in my case.

as an aside, visited NZ a few years back - loved it. could live there, easily. wonderful people, beautiful scenery.

Testosterone Injections:
IM Twice weekly injections if SHBG is low to mid range
IM Once weekly if SHBG is mid to high range
SQ three times weekly (less pain, E2 management and smooth serum levels)

Low dose Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) more frequently. 100 iu daily and work up.

AI only where indicated and start low and go slow with this compound...very powerful antagonist in men.

TRT protocols are changing every few months it seems as we learn more.

cheers

Hi There,

Thanks for the reply. It's so frustrating that the "experts" seem so behind the curve when it comes to treating secondary hypogonadism.

They seem to just want to use replacement doses of test and have no idea about using AI's and hCG! I've practically become a specialist myself in these matters just to make my case.

I did find it useful to get double-blind, placebo-controlled studies that present certain key points, however struggling to find much as far as using Aromatase Inhibitors and hCG. Not to mention optimal dosing...

Cheers!
