no matter how much i exercise i can't seem to lose any weight around my tummy or love handles area...my sides are getting bigger than my hips. :( any advice?

hi lioness; welcome to 'ology!
first off, post your diet and cardio for us. there could be aspects of your training that need to be tweaked, or you just may not have your diet in check. Post everything and we'll give it a look!

thanks, strnghthmnx.
as far as exercising goes, im doing a bunch of cardio workouts.
as for food, i just about a week ago started eating nothing but sandwiches (turkey n just plain veggie) with a handful of baked potato chips for lunch. for breakfast i eat cereal (corn pops) and for dinner i have baked chicken with a lot of salad and a portion of mashed potatoes and some steamed vegetables. i have a mid-snack of fruits and at night i'll eat a handful of nuts.
as for beverages, i now limit myself to one soda can every other day. other than that i drink milk, water and juice...i'm beginning to notice a little difference with my body, i think my stomachs shrinking a little but my sides are getting bigger and no matter how much i eat, i still feel hungry.

hey there, welcome to it!! first off not to be rude but your diet is horrible sweetie!! you need to eat more then that, six small meals a day. that speeds up your metabolism. as far as the fruit in my opionion when trying to lose fat you should cut that out. its sugary and can raise insulin levels which will make you store fat!! obiously not what you want. diet is i belive 85% of what you look like. YOu need to not eat deli meats. they have a lot of sodium in them which can bloat you and it is preserved. you want to eat clean. i personally do not eat anything out of a box or bag. the only foods i eat arechicken, cod, orange roughy, ground turkey, and brown rice, yams, oatmeal and veggies> it is very simple and easy. your foods you are eating do not have much nutritional value and you are not eating enough. no wonder why you are hungry??? if you dont eat enough that can also cause yoru body to hold on to the fat!! consistency is key. no matter what you decide to eat in the future stick to it for a least 8-12 weeks. let your body adjust to change. flip floping in and out of diets will also cause slower results. and if i were you cut your carbs off at 4 or 5 pm. you dont want carbs that late. when you reach to grab something to eat, think before you eat it. " is this going to get me to my goals???" if you know better then put it down....
good luck sweetie!!

good post tt!. lioness, why don't you try switching to diet soda? then you could have it more often without all the sugar. also, try a small sweet potato instead of the potato chips or mashed potatoes. i personally don't see anything wrong with chicken or fish from a bag; lots of bodybuilders live off of canned tuna and frozen chicken. just watch your sodium intake in other areas and you should be fine. besides, fresh meat is almost out of the question if you are having to watch your budget. change the corn pops (which are very processed carbs) to egg whites and oatmeal. i can't be very specific in portion size yet because i don't know a lot about you or your body. let us know any other questions you might have!
