HELP: Raised enzyme levels

H2O

Token English Female
Knowingly I overdid a course. Having some problems I've recently gone to the Doctors who sent me for blood tests. Not all the tests are back but what has come back is: raised muscle enzyme level, and raised liver enzyme level.

Before I find myself in a position where I have to admit the steroid abuse (and no one wants use on their medical file now do they) can anyone confirm if it could be because of the cycle, Winstrol (injectable) and Anavar?

And if anyone understands, an explanation as to why they raise these levels.

Liver enzymes will probably turn to normal soon ... How long was your cycle for a n what dosages? Btw, you took two 17aas at one trime.

... you say 'soon', what is your description of soon? Doc. wants to redo the blood work in a months time.

DOSAGE =

Winstrol - 1ml amp/50mg 3 times a week, (Saturday, Monday & Wednesday) for 12 weeks (8th January - 2nd April)

I started the Winstrol again for 3 weeks (8th May - 24th May) dosage as above

The Anavar 10mg x 2 times a day, then after a while x 3 times a day. This was all the way through, although I started it later than I did the Winstrol.

I know this probably was unwise, and trust me I don't need to be told this, my body is telling me by the pain it is in.

you probably should have gotten blood work after 3 months or so into that cycle. I would say in about a month your liver values could be normal or better... Do you know how elevated they are exactly? The good thing about your liver is it can regenerate. Were you taking any supplements to support your liver? I have known ppl to run 17aas longer then that with no problem, and I'm going to guess winstrol was probably the culprit to raising them.

One thing my dr told me was that working out alone can raise your liver enzymes. Mine were slightly elevated with no Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) use or alcohol. My ALT and AST were both high and still are. He told me if I would quit training hard for a month or so they should return to normal. From what I understand, if they are just slightly elevated, no need to worry. Just my experience...

This is also correct, a good doc should know this as well that weight training alone is gonna elevate them to a degree.

I REALLY appreciate your replies. One last question: how long can I expect the joint aching to last ... it's everywhere even in my fingers and ankles? Oh yeah and when would you suggest I start a next course :)

What is your diet like? How's your water consumption? High protein can be taxing on your liver, so combined with your Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) useage and training, this could also be a factor.

Glucosamine helps a lot of people with joint pain. However, it takes a while to feel it's effects, like 2 or 3 months of daily use. MSM may also be helpful but I've never tried it.

No one can tell you how long your pain will last. Each body repairs differently, just as each body reacts differently to Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) compounds.

You may want to try something different for your next cycle. I had bad sides from EQ so I stopped as quickly as I started, but physically it helped relieve some of the problems I had from using prop. Joints and tendons improved greatly.

You already know your cycles were pretty strong though. If it were me, I'd take some time off from using Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) and train naturally while keying in on diet and healthy supplements. Let your body recover or you may regret it in the long run.

I agree with Puddles. The glucosamine and MSM combo helps me tremendously with joint pain.

My diet is really pretty clean much of the time Puddles; I'm vegetarian so I eat a lot of egg whites, soya type veggie burgers, tofu and heaps of fibrious vegetables and oats. I supplement with whey protein drinks and protein bars ... so I'm getting a whole lot of protein. I do indulge in dried fruit and gummy sweets occasionally.

I was taking Glucosamine throughout the cycle, and still am, although not a MSM combo. Today's great news is that I actually met a Doctor specialising in sports medicine who has told me to give him all the results of my blood work when they're back and he will help me sort things out. He is a body builder and admitted to steroid use and of course was completely unjudgemental.

He advised me that the problem with using AS that promote cutting is that they drain the body from essential fluids that are usually binded to fat tissue, thus giving the ripped effect, but also producing a lot of post treatment problems.

Although I was advised and read on here about taking milk thistle I didn't and he advised that for future regimes I should invest in this or LIV 52 for the cycle duration and six weeks after. He also advised me that the use of glucosamine is pointless, unless the supplement contains MSM. Posting this in case anyone else can benefit from this information. I will certainly be doing it in future without fail.

Anyway, my new friend is going to review all the blood results once they're back mid next week, but summised that my descriptions and history point out to excessive connective tissue and ligaments stress.

As far as my next cycle goes, I've been told that my last cycle was OK, although somewhat primitive and obsolete in design. I cannot wait to see what he advises me to use instead. I was going to run the same cycle, just over a shorter period.

Now isn't it every girls dream to come across a Doctor specialising in Sport Medecine who is in to AS himself and is willing to help.

To everyone that has replied, I thank you for your input, it is so appreciated and noted. I'll keep you updated. In the meantime I'm still in real bad pain and sometimes it feels like my bones hurt and not just my joints.

These were the figures from my blood work ... if anyone has any comments (understanding) would appreciate feed back.

ALT/SGPT serum level OR 58 iu/L (<40)
Increased ALT. Suggest repeat within 1/12
