hey eveyone, i know these questions would have been asked and answered before but ive read through numerous pages of info and am still no wiser! Im looking for a straight answer so please someone help me lol.

Basically im a skinny guy, got a problem absorbing nutrients therefore very difficult to gain weight. I have started taking a weightgain/protien shake 3 times a day along with working out every second day and even though there is a little difference in size, im not happy.

Im looking for someone to tell me straight if anabolic steroids is they way to go, safest way to get them and how to use them safely for someone my size. (100lbs) 23 years old!!

thanks

How tall are you? If you are 100lbs, i think your case is pathologic.. thats 45kg, its nearly impossible?!

anyway, no, you are clearly not ready to even think about it, you're not going to benefit anyway from steroids at this point. What you need to do it completly change your eating habits.

When i was your age, i also had a hard time gaining weight, because i didnt know shit about the diet that suits me. You need to find the diet that works for you. For example i dont take any gainer/protein shake because my body doesnt absord milk protein very well.. so i take tuna cans meat or eggs instead. When I stopped to eat anything that contains milk, and started to learn nutrition facts of products, I took 30lbs the first year.

At your stage, you need to learn how to diet and eat EVERYTTHING you can find, dont pay attention to fat or anything, and if the appetite is not big enough dont worry it'll come. Try to eat every 3-4 hours.. and read the nutrition facts on everything you ingest.

With the money u wanted to spend on steroids, go buy an ipod and fill it with metallica, slikpnot, rage against the machine and take it with u when u train :)

I'd like to hear more about this. Surely you've been to a doc, so what did he say? Don't be afraid to bring up the subject of prescribed Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) use with your doc, how it relates to your condition, the pros and cons, etc. At your bodyweight, I'm sure he'll be willing to discuss the issue without prejudice.

Consider, however, that Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) don't make you gain muscle automatically. They simply facilitate muscle gain given the necessary building blocks and stimuli. If you have some sort of GI disorder, it's very possible that steroids won't do anything to help you since the root of the problem isn't hormonal. They may even do you harm if you're in a fragile medical state.

More info on the disorder. IF you can't absorb nutrients steroids may not do any thing for you.

Are you sure this is the case or do you just need to learn how to eat to grow. Ether way that is what you need to focus your research on before you even consider using anything . I would be willing to bet you just have a high metabolism.

you will get better results replacing those protein shakes' with whole foods. Shakes' are ok to sip on with a meal or maybe for a quick source of protein after an intense workout, and before you eat your post workout meal. If you're using them AS meals though you have the wrong idea.

yes eat alot!!!!! take basic vitamins, eat ever 2-3 hours want to replace meal or 2 with weightgainer shake that is fine too but remember it will never replace real FOOD, and train at the gym, maybe getting personal trainer wouldnt be a bad idea... try this for 2-3 months, if all fails go see a specialist... steroids usage is not the answear for you

Do you have crohns disease? Anyways it doesn't matter, if you can't absorb the nutrients to grow, anabolics will not add anything to your frame but water. These are not some magic drugs that put mass on you with nothing else. You have to eat and be able to absorb the nutrients to support the muscle.

The answers are easy to find, just have a look in the newbie section.

What is this condition, or do you just think you have a condition? Protein shakes are no substitue for real food, you'll only gain weight Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) or without it by eating a lot lot more.

You need to have your training and diet correct and by doing this you'll gain the size

No steroids are not for you. Do not do them.

Post your diet and training and we'll try to help

I got a friend with the same problem. We all thought he was throwing up the food after he ate it, cause he really ate alot, but stayd skeletor all the time. Doc fixed him though, dont know how, but now hes almost normal weight.

possibly a overactive thyroid.
a guy i worked with suddenly developed it and could not eat enough to maintain what was a normal weight to begin with , he actually worked with 1 hand and ate with the other because he was starving lol . once diagnosed the doc fixed him right up.

thanks for the replies. im 5ft 9/10, and weigh about 8 stone 2lbs. Im not taking the shakes as a meal replacment, im eating 3 times a day and i actually have a decent diet. Tuna, fruit, red meat etc.

Ive seen the doc about the not being able to absorb nutrients and its because I have IBS. Iritable bowel syndrome. With this info, is steroids stil a big no? I was thinking of them just to bulk me up a little, not intending to use them all the time.

basically what it does is, instead of digesting food normally i have small pockets in my bowel/intestines which food goes into therefore not digesting properly also meaning i dont absorb nutrients. ive had it since i was 12 and can usually control it with my diet, i cant eat certain foods, oranges, cheese, certain vegetables etc. but the biggest problem i have is it really is impossible to put weight on. thats why ive been thinking about going over to the dark side, im just fed up of people commenting how thin i am for someone my age also im not happy with my body. i dont know where i go from here.

I don't know anything about your disorder, but I find it peculiar that your body can absorb enough nutrition to sustain life but is unable to make use of anything beyond that. I'd be trying to nail down which foods work and make maximum use of them, investigating if liquid nutrition and smaller particle size has any impact, looking into digestive enzymes, etc. Failing that, I'd be looking for IV nutrition.

I'd also be demanding progress from the doctor's treatments. Sounds like the only treatment your getting so far is some advice not to eat cheese! Some doctors are fools and others simply don't give a shit about you. Most docs prefer to prescribe conservatively for fear of lawsuit. In any case, consider looking for a new doc if this one isn't doing anything for you.

I have coeliac disease, so i was like you very light weighted as a teen until i changed my food habits dramatically. I tried all kinds of diets and found out which ones works.
There are two things you can try IMO, and steroid is not one of them.

first you can always take amino acids supps rather than proteins, you will ingest them because its "pre-digested proteins". But yeah these are more expensive... maybe you can get pharmaceutical preparations with amino acids prescribed by the doctor? they give that to babies having troubles ingesting milk proteins. if you buy amino supps, you must watch out and read the nutritions facts because most of the brands sell proteins labeled amino acids. For example Optimum nutrition "Superior amino" is just plain proteins put in caps = bullshit. I like Twinlab's Amino Fuel, it is hydrolyzed proteins, which is kinda halfway between proteins and amino acids so its still cheaper and very well ingested.

Also, you may try gainers with enzymes included, such as Optimum nutrition "pro complex gainer". I find this one very good and have no troubles ingesting it.
