im putting my mom on a diet and exercise plan becuase she's been working out a very long time and she told me that this year she lost 3 ibs!!! she could have lost that on accedent the night before. she's 5'8 about 135ibs... ive been doin quite a bit of research on this forum but im curious as to what yall would do with her. any tips or help would be appreciated

Any diet based around meats and veggies is good. No processed foods, and don't eat things like lean ground beef.

Simple diets are good because they're easy to follow. This is as simple as it gets:

Meat and vegetables. No processed food.

Toss in cod liver oil, and you have a pretty decent diet going.

No vegetable oil, margarine, etc.

thanks for the advise frosty as i am much more concernd about the diet than i am the work out cause i already made one up...also how many calories a day... how many carbs... fat...etc?

For now, tell her not to worry about counting calories, fat, carbs, etc. It will be much more likely that she'll follow it this way since it's much less hassle and worry. Only eating meats and veggies makes it hard to screw up.

ya good point...

but for my own curiosity what would be some high numbers that she should never exceed in a day

Depending on how active she is, she probably wouldn't want to go over 2500 calories.

Following the above number, fat and protein isn't limited, but she probably shouldn't get too much more than 100g of carbs a day. So long as she isn't eating potatoes, beets, and yams all day, that shouldn't be a problem.
