High Glycemic Preworkout?

I always wonder how much is too much when it comes to preworkout carbohydrates. What should someone take in prior to workout? Is it a highly glycemic carb that should be utilized?

For pre-workout meals I would stick with the lower GI carbs like oats and sweet potato. However post workout you want to get in some higher GI carbs. Most will simply use dextrose to accomplish this.

agree..i eat 1 cup of oats about 2 hours pre workout..dont like lifting on a full stomach..then use higher GI carbs post workout

I use dextrose immediatly before, and sometime during the first half of my workouts. Goes against the grain but I see better gains this way. If your going to do it this way, be sure your workouts are relatively short (less than 1 hour) or else youll be crashing hard.
