Home made protein bars

I have heard of people doing this, It all seems like too much trouble to me. I prefer to mix my protein powder with milk and drink it. I do like protein bars but my boss gives me all I can stand for free presently there are 27 boxes of them stacked on my desk.

lucky bastard, send some my way if you get tired of them.LOL
what the hell kinda job do you have? must have something to do with supplements i assume, or he is a nice guy.

Actually I am a civil engineer/architect, my bosses wife does promotional advertising for quite a few companies and one of them is Joyride, and Detour protein bars, I eat these things all day long and he just brings me more of them. We get all kinds of free promotional stuff, he gives these to me because I am the only bodybuilder at our company.

i copied one down, but i seemed to have lost it. it had protein powder, oats, natural peanut butter, and honey. hopefully this could point you in teh right direction.

How to make protein bars

Actually I make my own protein bars..

and they got picked up by a company..

its way better to make your own, for a couple of reasons,

1. no preservatives
2. no B.S. ingrediants.
3. you can make your own flavor.
4. You actually KNOW whats in them!

Here's how you do it.

A. Protein powder 1 scoop
(whey, soy, milk, whatever)
B. Crushed oats 1/4 cup
C. Egg Whites 1/2 cup
D. Dried fruit 1/4 cup
(www.justtomatoes.com) any type will do, but these are good because they dont use preservatives or sweetners.
E. Add anything else you want for flavor
...if its a post workout bar, add more carbs, if its a lean down bar skip the oats and dried fruit, use veggitable protein instead of oats. wont taste as good, but when you on the run and dont have time to cook, it will be what you need fast.

mix these up,
[the portions dont really even matter, just make sure you use enough egg whites so that it mixes, if you want you can add some soy milk]

bake at about 350 for about 20 minutes, or less, depends how thick you make them.

If you want a sample of my protein bars, email me, and i'll mail one to you. Mine are a little more complicated, but they are the only protein bar i'll put in my body.

Also getfit, how far do the 2.5oz tubs go? I want to try it first- might just buy the 1/2lb tub.
