This is my first post on this board. I am a competitive powerlifter with a fairly good knowledge on male sports performance. My wife has also competed in powerlifting, but is looking to get into figure. She is 33 years old 5'5 145 lbs in good shape, but recently treatred for a pituiatary tumour which has affected her hormone levels. The tumour has been trated, but her hormone levels are unchanged. She is not producing lh or fsh and as a result she is always tired, no sex drive and chronic pains. Her doctor wants to put her on estrogen only to replace her hormones. She stated women don't have enough etstosterone to worry about and that estrogen replacement is all that is needed. In the past she has taken 15 mg anavar for 8 weeks(2 years ago) and a cycle of primo 100mg/week about 10 years ago. I have a friend who is an endocrinloogist who recommended low dose test for sex drive that with the armotization may balance the test/estrogen. We tried his advice and used test cream at 10 mg/week. The cream gave her more energy and for the first time in a long time started to be back to the way she was. There were no neg sides with the low dose test. Her sex drive was not improved, but everything else did. My thoughts were that the test didn't increase sex drive because estrogen may have been to low. From my research it is important for women to hav ethe right balance which can be extremely difficult. It is so hard to find a doctor that even knows as much as me concerning hormones and I need an expert. We have a new doctor who has my wife starting clomid at 50 mg day. I am not sure if that would help much. In women clomid acts differently then in men and will probably raise estrogen.. My question is what effect will clomid have on female progesterone/testosterone levels. Before the tumour she was diagnosed with estrogen dominance and I am concerned the clomid would not help her. I just want to find a solution or some info to give to the doctors that may help. It would be nice to have her feeling like she did in her 20's and get her libido back to the way it was, but her overall health is my first concern. Most doctors are clueless when it comes to male hormones and athletic supplementation. IT seems even less are informed about women. Also what effects should we expect with her taking clomid?
