How important is deadlifting?

IMO its the single best exercise for overall development. You can't get that real thick dense back/traps without it
 
rack deads and floor deads are important...and training legs period is key .

Lots of guys neglect legs...which is unacceptable.
 
most people think..deadlifting is all about back..since well..it's a back exercises when actually you have to squat the weight up then coordinate from there
 
its one of the few exercises that has functional carry-over into just about every sport or activity.
 
Deadlifts are THE best mass builder for me. I put on 10 pounds over a several month period when I first started deadlifting heavy.

Deadlifts work even better than squats for me. With deadlifts, I notice my overall body mass getting thicker.
