How many sets per body part on AAS?

Assumptions:

Train only one body part a day.

Legs, Chest, Back, Tris, Bis, Shoulders... with 2 rest days strategically placed in there each go around....

Pyramiding every exercise 6, 8, 10, 12 reps, increasing weight.

How many sets for each body part? (Or, indirectly how many exercises, being that there are 4 sets for each exercise.)

I currently do 16 sets for bis and tris, 20 for chest, back and shoulders, and 24 for legs.

Is this optimum when doing a DECA/DBOL cycle?

Thanks.

If you're increasing weight after each set and you're still getting more reps then you aren't doing something right.

You're doing an awful lot of sets too.

Depends how I feel, up to 18 sets for me, right now I am very low volume and only train one bodypart weekly.

12 sets for biceps is pretty crazy, I go by how I feel. Like I said sometimes I go low volume (usually when off cycle) and deeper into a cycle I can go much higher for bigger bodyparts, I might get to around 14 sets for chest, and for sure 18 for back. Some people will do even more, but with heavier lifting I often go lower volume, plus its easier for me to kick ass for several reps and throw in the towel instead of playing mental games with higher reps.

Overall its just a balance of what works for you, you discover it over time. Same for rep scheme, I can't seem to handle heavy lifting on bench for long before my numbers go down, even with low volume. But for back I really like heavy, same for legs when doing squats.

Chest = 10-12
Back = 12-14
Bi's = 9-10
Tri's = 9-11
Forearms = 7
Traps = 4-6
Shoulders = 12-15

I've been making pretty good progress lately w/ this

damn i feel bad cause i only do 3 sets for back. 1 set for legs as of late.

to the original poster: you are not training one body part per day in the routine you posted.
