I would be more curious what you weight is and what your bench is. I guy who is at 185lbs with a 300 lb bench is pretty impresive. if you weight is 225lbs that is only 75lbs over your body weight.
da best answer ever!Lolz it doesn't even matters how much can u bench press unless u are a powelifter.I used to bench press 440 for 1 when i was 19-20yo.Now im 25 had pec major rupture 70%.Did'nt go under surgery! Now 3 years later my basic exercise is incline...much better then bench press.I do bench press as a supplementary exercise. And i do not go crazy weighs...i do 10 reps 220-260 since is not my first exercise. And my pec is way way better then when i was training big ass weighs.Controlled reps are much better for hypertrophy than just moving the weight from A to B,and bouncing the weight like your on cocain...lol
I weigh 190-195lbs, am mid 40s (age) and did 395lbs bench with a pause in competition. Strength = quality muscle, which I will take any day over raw size and bloat. My buddy looks way bigger than me, but his muscles are puffy and not dense.
I haven't maxed out in years but back at the end of April while on cycle I was getting incredibly strong and was repping 315 for 10 reps which was the most i've ever done. I don't go for maxes anymore as I to have pulled my pec muscle from lifting too heavy. Nothing but inclines and DB's for me for a while.
