Living in Japan, turkey isn't readily available HOWEVER a post on my facebook feed revealed there's a 'meat guy' in Japan that sells all kinds of delicious cuts of meat. But there's also the problem of most of us not having an oven big enough to fit a turkey into BUT they sell pre-cooked turkey's and 'baby' turkeys.
I ordered a 5.5 kg turkey (The only size they have left with the upcoming holidays). It cost me about 120 USD. It arrives Christmas day, which will be a day off for me (Rare since moving to Japan). I doubt my wife and I will be able to eat through that much turkey so lots of it will be cut and thrown into the freezer.
Still, is that a lot for turkey? I've actually never bought turkey since moving to Japan. Most Japanese eat chicken thinking it's basically the same as turkey.
Also, the meat guy sells Eye of Round Roast 3 kgs for 80 USD. Is that a lot or a fair price? That would be raw, cut into smaller servings for dinner. I think it would last about 2 weeks if I ate it every night for dinner.
ETA: The Eye of Round Roast is grass fed.
