theres very little chance youre one of the few people that have a condition that requires you to limit your sodium intake.

unless youre pre-contest, dont worry about it.

dropping sodium to low releases a chemical or hormone (cant think of the name at the moment) in your body that increases blood pressure anyway.

Since we are talking about sodium and I didnt want to start another thread about it.....

I have recently looked at all my sodium intake and it was pretty high. What lead me to believe this is I was bloating. I have cut (watched how much) sodium I am taking in my diet. My question about sodium is how long does it stay in your system for before you flush it out?

**right pumped sorry to have piggy backed on your thread

I simply stay away from canned soups, foods high in sodium and i don't add any extra salt to my food.

Aczech, what do you consider "HIGH". i had a brown rice paket today and it was 1025mg of sodium. obv. this is just one sitting, I'm thinking this is way to much?????

Here is some info.....I did some research on google and found this

According to many experts, the typical Western diet provides a grossly
excessive amount of sodium. Snacks, fast-food meals, and packaged food
products are the main culprits; even foods that do not taste salty are
sometimes loaded with sodium. For those who are salt-sensitive, the
consumption of extra sodium can influence their weight by as much as
ten pounds.

"Most people eat more salt than the recommended daily allowance of
2,400 milligrams. In fact, average salt intake is around 20 times as
much as our body requires. Where does the excess salt in our diet come
from? Foods in their natural state contain little salt. Most salt
people consume comes from manufactured foods -- like breakfast
cereals, rice mixes, and processed meat. Twenty to 30 percent of salt
is added during cooking or while eating.

Reports from experts concerned with diet and cardiovascular disease or
diet and chronic diseases find that lower salt consumption is best;
only two out of 70 United States experts who have recently studied the
issue disagree."
