How much ya bench?

Just finished week six of test/ deca......600/400. I have never been one to max out on anything because I never had a particular goal as far as weight lifting went. My goal was to get in and get it done... regardless of the max. Also, I am prone to shoulder pain so I never pushed my bench weight until now.

I am 5'8", 200 lbs.....bf is prob around 15-18%...33 years old.
I usually work out with 185-205 and no more than 225 on flat bench so I had no idea what to expect but at 5:30 in the morning the other day before work I went in and maxed 295 and immediately after was unable to get 315 and 305 in that order. Pretty good for me IMO.

Just curious where you guys are at on bench compared to you're height and weight.
Before this is over I will have a max on squat and deadlift as well.
 
5'10 210lbs 25years old 16%bf
flat bench havent maxed but i start with 135 10times, 235 10times, 285 8times, 315 5times then have help doing it two more times
 
I'm currently 143.4lb. at 5'3" and the last time I 'maxed' or went within a 5-rep range with Flat Bench on a BB was back in Jan. or Feb. 2013. I had gotten 165lb. up for 2 good reps at a bodyweight of 137lb. at the time. I've never been strong on the Bench Press, I'm suited more for Squats than anything else.
 
6' 2" 225lbs sub 9% bf... I'm old ass piss so I don't Max anymore. My current flat bench sets look like this:

150X20, 100X15, 100X12, 100X10, 100X8, 100X6 (slowmo), 100X6 (slowmo). I take 30-40 seconds between sets.

i see why you only have 9% bf
 
6'1" 230somethingish working out with 365x5 last set on flat. Do about 275ish last set on incline.. I really don't count reps or sets. I just go with what feels good..
 
yep...sometimes I go in and camp out on the incline for the entire workout....if I do 8 or so sets reppin out 205-225 there is no way in hell I can say I didn't get mine.lol. I too just do what feels good. Love the cable flys too!
 
6'2 235 bf no clue 10-14 i'd guess. 23 y/o

heaviest was about month and change ago at 365 for a double.

right now not trying to max but staying in the 295-335 area. slow and steady.

Damn! That's impressive! Yea, your going to move around a little bit lifting that much weight! Lol
 
Does that really allow you to lift more weight?

If its done right and your timing is just right plus you have to explode at the bottom. So yes it helps if its done right. There is a reason why all power lifters arch there back. the only thing is in competition (power meet) you can arch but your butt has to stay on the bench,

Incline first the followed by flat on chest day. Oh and yes as I go up in weight I also go up in reps.
 
24yo 5'11, 220 11-14%bf 340 x 1-- last 2 weeks been benching with resistance bands and gonna attempt another max
