How true is this article about Steroids?

I can answer those without reading the article.

Liver: oral steroids are your main concern. Without the proper on cycle supplements (liver protection supps) liver values and become an issue...every oral steroid has a different level if impact of damage to your liver. By taking the right on cycle accessory supplements your liver should be fine. That and the fact that the liver is one of the only organs I believe in your body that can actually regenerate (like a lizards tail). This is with the notion that you did not continuously damage your liver without giving it time to heal.

Roid rage: myth and truth...most responsible and seasoned users will**tell you that steroids kind if enhance your already acting attitude...so yes if your are a dick already, you are going to be a bigger deal. But the so called "roid rage" comes with maturity level in combination with self control and responsible use. That being said, EVERY steroid has different effects on the mind and body. I've had people tell me Halo makes them more aggressive in the gym.

Limp dick: run an oral only or any non testosterone based cycle you will probably have libido problems. Also certain steroids even when accompanied by a testosterone base can cause problems. Deca dick is a common phrase used. Prami and Cialis while on cycle will help with that. Also if you don't recover properly from a cycle (test levels don't rise naturally after pct) you will have libido problems because of Low T...and will probably end up on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) or Testosterone Replacement Therapy.

Did these answer your questions?

All in all everyone is different. The key is responsible use and having a mature outlook on steroid usage and training.

Hair

Among users, hair loss is one of the most dreaded side effects of pumping your body full of hormones – which just shows how mind-numbingly vain you have to beto take them in the first place.
Not any different than what you're genetically susceptible to. Sure, some DHT derivatives or high androgenic compounds can cause temporary hair loss, but that's the thing: It's temporary. (NOT the MPB stuff though, that's permanent.)

Brain

Essentially, steroids mess with your head, causing nausea, destroying brain cells and prompting violent mood swings. Some users have also reported suicidal tendencies.
Sure, and so does alcohol/tobacco/sugar/air. Gotta love how the 'roid rage myth still exists in 2013. :spin:

Acne is not particularly harmful (although we seem to remember that big spots really hurt), but it’s an unattractive side effect. Do you really want the hormones of a 15-year-old all over again?
Good thing we have AI's and I have not met a 15 year old with total test values over 5,000ng/dl, so not sure where they're headed with this. :p

Nose

White blood cell production drops, which weakens the immune system and makes users more susceptible to colds, flu and other infections.
This is actually true, to an extent.

Man-boobs. Enough said.
Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator/Aromatase Inhibitor. Enough said.

Heart

High blood pressure and heart disease are common side effects of almost every steroid.
Heart disease is the number one killer in the world. Managing estradiol as well as keeping up on vitals can help reduce the chances of any issues, although technically this is true.

Arms

Injecting steroids is even more dangerous than taking them orally. Needles carry the risk of hepatitis B and C and HIV, plus you also risk abscesses or infections in the muscle tissue.
Absolute horse-shit and irresponsible of the magazine to state that orals are less dangerous than injectables. Hep B/C and HIV don't magically come from a vial. You can get an abscess, but proper technique and safety protocols help minimize this risk.

Liver and kidneys

The effects of taking steroids are similar to a really heavy night on the sauce – your kidneys and liver are forced to work extra hard to flush the steroids through your system, leading to long-term organ damage and cancer.
True. Although the hepatoxicity of steroids is exaggerated and can be minimized with NAC and Liv.52. These products have been proven to help with liver strain.

Stomach

Vomiting is a common side effect – and for a user can be a sign that their liver is turning to mush. Water retention is another problem, and there’s little point building enormous muscles if you’re waddling around with a bloated pot belly.
Yet to meet someone that got nauseous from AAS, but I'm sure some folks have a syncope effect causing nausea. Estrogen control mitigates the swelling/bloat issue to a great extent.

Penis

Impotence. Not likely to go down well with women. Even those who find freakish muscles attractive.
True. This is a risk we all take when using AAS. Then again, viagra is a huge selling drug for a reason, and considering the vast majority of people don't use AAS, I find this to be a silly argument.

Testicles

Steroids make your balls shrivel up and can leave users infertile. Possibly this serves them right.
True. But then again, this is highly exaggerated and I know many that have had children while on TRT/AAS cycles.

What a bitter article with a very biased slant. I'm disappointed in how so many negative stigmas continue to exist in today's age given how there are FAR worse things being abused, with far greater consequences. The number one abused substance right now is pain killers, which carry among them as a side effect: Death.

Oh well, more for me!

Wait wait, so the acne is from testosterone, and can be prevented by AI??? My doc says I don't need Aromatase inhibitor (AI), what should I do. Never had a estrodiol lab ran.
