I read the word shake 50 times i think. Try some solid food. You will be less hungry. and buddy, lets get serious. You should never be hungry while losing weight. Your doing it wrong. Know what foods to avoid, and which ones to pig out on. Yes, pig out on, I said it.

The whole point of eating a ton of smaller meals throughout the day is because it is supposed to help you manage hunger. It doesn't boost your metabolism significantly - that's why you workout in addition to diet. But it can keep you from feeling hungry all day.

And like Mr. Gym Bag said - find foods that won't leave you feeling hungry all day or just learn to ignore the hunger.

yeah i mean i do ignore the hunger thats not a problem. so in bulking just eat more solid and work my butt off? this may sound rediculous. but i am new to this. i been working out since middle school for football and i am trying to make it look like it now...i am tired of being a fat strong kid. thats why i ask some of my stupid questions on here. so please forgive me....

You aren't asking stupid questions. Everyone has to learn somewhere. Anyway, I read your post wrong at first and thought you were still trying to lose weight. What are you eating right now? Like how many calories and so on. Also, what weight are you at? When I'm bulking, I typically only get a shake before and after my workout, with plenty of carbs and protein in each. You can bulk on only 500 over maintenance if you want to try to minimize fat gain, but realize that without gear usage, you are going to gain fat along with the muscle.

On my last bulk, I gained a fair amt of muscle w/o alot of excess fat. I just ate TONS but i ate CLEAN. FOr example.... oatmeal, eggs, milk in the am Snack(pb sandwich, nuts, granola, something) about 10am, Big lunch (spagetti, or brown rice and chicken, salad, etc), another snack about 3-4pm usually natural pb sand. , shake, workout, shake, then about 2hrs later have a big dinner and usually have something at about 9pm(cottage cheese, piece of chicken, something w/protein). WHen I bulk i usually drink about 1 gallon of milk per day also.
Now....u say work your ass off...yeah u give it 110% in the gym (intensity) but don't over do it on volume. 3-4 days per wk should be good. if u wanna do some cardio on off days that should be fine 2(will help keep your fat gain minimal). Hit the big 3- DEADLIFT, BENCH, SQUAT WHen i started doing dl's for the 1st time they really helped me gain size. So have squats. I mean overall size too not just in your legs.
Don't be afraid to eat, u shouldn't be walking around hungry. Shakes are supplements not meals. K?? Don't be so afraid of putting on a few lbs of fat, worst case senario u can always burn it off in a couple months.
Don't OVERTRAIN. Body needs proper diet, training, rest. All 3 are vital if ya wanna grow.

I had good luck with eating clean, SOLID foods. Dont rely so much on shakes. I believe you will see and feel the difference.

i just been cutting weight so long for football like staying trim that i almost feel like i am eatin too much. i guess i just need to keep working hard and running and eating and let nature do what it does. thanks you guys! sorry for asking such youngin questions. i have always been a naturally strong person and now i want the body to show it. one more question....i may look completely stupid for asking this but what exactly is "gear"?

Gear = Steroids

Just remember - you can't trust your body to tell you how much you need to eat. Your body doesn't want to gain weight most of the time, so if you only eat how much your body tells you to eat, you won't gain much size at all.
When I bulk, I normally have to forcefeed myself to get enough food in to gain muscle. But I have a typical ecto metabolism, so it might be a bit different for you. Still, the only sure way to know if you are getting enough food to gain size is to track your calories every single day, track your average weekly weight and keep increasing your daily calories until you start gaining at least a couple pounds a week.

Good luck.
