Training for competition is so hard! And not for the obvious reasons of working out like a freak and dieting like a maniac, trying to figure out how many calories to eat, which workouts are best etc is driving me crazy.
I have read literally ten different ways to calculate your calorie needs, all of them provided by "professionals" in the industry, but all of them contradicting each other. So according to some I am eating too few calories and my muscle mass is at risk, and according to others I am eating way to much and I am a pig! Lol. How is one supposed to know which one to follow?
And dont get me started on workouts! Its een worse, every publication and trainer has a different workout plan suggestion.
Basically, I am 25 years old, 150 pounds, 26.3% body fat and my competition is in March. Anyone out there who has actually competed and found some proven methods that work I would gladly accept your direction. Ive been eating about 1800 calories, working out 5 days a week doing strength, followed by 30 minutes of HIIT cardio directly afterward. But now I am info overloaded and fear my muscle mass is shrinking or im eating too many calories and wasting my time. Because my time is so precious I cant afford to get this wrong for the next 6-8 weeks. Thanks!
