Ok.. I have refined my diet and excersize..but gosh.. it just seems like a LOT of carbs.... so here is a sample of a day...

I am 5'2" 127lbs and I want to get back down to 115lbs . I am training for a trip in July and I want to get lean. I know the last 3 weeks I will do a super low carb diet..but between now and then this is the diet I have come up with ... along with 6 days of two 25 min cardio sessions and weight lifting 5 days!!

Please someone advise me if the carbs are too much, or if the calories need to go down more?? Or what? Or Am I right on target?

I posted something in the other forum... but my question didn't really get answered other than to add some brown rice to my diet.. so I did... So here it is:

Food Calories Fat Carbs Protein

5:30am 25 Min Cardio

6am Cream of Wheat 90 0 17 3

8am egg whites (3) 90 0 1.5 21

10:30am Shake 8 oz 130 1.5 5 25

12:10pm 25 Min Cardio

With 6 days of cardio and 5 days of weight training, 1130 calories seems a little low to me. That's a lot of training. Keep in mind, with 5 days of weights, it is possible that you may not lose a lot of weight, but lose BF. You will definitely look trimmer, but your actual weight may trick you. Carbs look OK to me because they are complex and not just junk. Diet looks extrememly clean, but you don't want to kill yourself. Stay on top of your water intake. Just my $.02

1130 calories is WAY to little food for just about anyone. I have a SLUGGISH metabolism and I diet down on at leat 1400 calories per day. I'd bump up the protein to at least 150 grams per day but probably more like 160 grams. Your fats are awfully low too. I'd add about 1 Tablespoon of Udo's at the last meal and maybe into one of your shakes too. The carbs are low, but not undoable, you might want to think about a carb up every 4th day to boost your enegry levels because that diet combined with heavy training are going to zap you fast.

ok... I have added.. what do you think?

Ok.... So... I know I will not lose Weight in Lbs but I will lose BF.. I should have said that!! sorry.. I want to lose the body fat.. 2 months ago I was 116lbs and 14% body fat... Now I am 127lbs and not sure what BF.. don;t want to know!! lol

I want to get lean...

So... Should I add another shake to up my calories?? But.. my problem is.. I have a VERY slow metabolism... My cardio in the mornin is running for 25 min.. but its a run/walk.. not all that fast but my heart is beatin pretty good

Then I do 25 min on the elliptical... it has a monitor so I know I burn about 300 calories

Then my weight training.. I don't do toooo heavy of weights ....but I am trying to go heavier..but I dont' want to bulk up ! So I am trying to do more reps...and little lighter weight...

So.. What now??

oops... and about my calories.. Should I have another shake?? or Up my eggs??? Or add like a Turkey burger??

I'd eat more eggs or add in a Turkey burger for more protein, and lifting heavy will not make you bulk up, not unless you eat a lot too. Also, weights before cardio ALWAYS. It makes your cardio more effective.

Ok..got it weights before cardio... but here's then another dilema with that...

I do cardio before work.... at lunch ... and then weights in the evening... Evening is the only time I have enough time to do my weights... So does that still not make my cardio effective???

doing cardio is effective, but what i think what faye is saying is that if you can do weights then cardio, you'll make your cardio session that much more effective. ive always done cardio then weights, but no more. ill do what faye says.

If your day is split up like that it's fine. If you do cardio in the morining you just want to leave yourself ample time to recover from it so that your weight training sessions aren't compromised.

Also, when you weightlift then do cardio afterwards you've already depleted your glycogen stores and you end up burning more fat during your cardio session.

Good luck to you.

Thank you so much Faye for your advise!!! I am takin it and runnin with it.....Pun intended!! lol

I will keep everyone updated on my progress... I actually have lost 2lbs since Monday already... prob water weight..but who cares.. 2lbs is 2lbs///lol
