Hey all, I have been absent for a while and really have no excuse expect that life has been busy. My low T treatment has been really good, no complaints at all other than my level is only at 550 which I don't like. I do not like the fact that my doctor will not let me self inject, took me off of HCG and keeps my dose low because he doesn't want my free T to go above 20.

So I found a new doctor and had to wait three months to see him, finally saw him last week and wow am I happy to have found him. He upped my dosage to 200 mg a week injected twice a week at 1 mg per injection.

I am very nervous about injecting myself so what gauge needle should I use? I am a big man so I will have to inject in my thigh. just need advice!

Welcome back and congrats!

I use 20g to draw the test out of the vial and switch to a 25g one inch needle to inject. First time is the hardest. It gets easier after that.

Hi, don't know you but welcome back.
I use 23G for my oils it just goes so slow with a 25G but to each their own. I draw with a 22G. With all my water base such as prop I use a 25G. I don't usually use a 23G on my shoulders but have. The 23G or 25G for my quads and 23G to a 22G 1-1/2 for deep oil in my glutes.
It's really all a personal thing and you get into your own groove. But that's the basics. Good luck...

I was gonna make a thread to see where you were at. I said to myself a couple days ago wheres spunkey?
I use 23 G 1" for delts or quads. I use to use 1.5" for glutes
I dont do glutes anymore way too much scar tissue from over the years.

Thanks All, I do my first injection on Sunday and I am a little scared to say the least, but with anything in life it will get easier as I do it more.

Welcome back spunkey! Glad you found a new regimen, I'm sure you're going to get used to the injects in no time. I had a lot of fear of needles before TRT and it was gone so quickly it was almost scary.

UPDATE:

I have given myself three injections now and I have to say I am amazed that I absolutely feel nothing when injecting in my quad. Not even the slightest pinch from the 25 gauge pin nothing during the what feels like eternity of injecting the oil and nothing days afterwords, no soreness or bruising what so ever.

I think I am going to like self pinning from here on out, it feels good to have control of my treatment instead of a doctor!
