Just Finished my Income Taxes Rant!

I finally finished doing my Federal and State Income Taxes. I know I get a lot of benefits by paying my taxes. Paying for how ever many wars we have going on at the moment. That new nuclear submarine that we need. Roads. Fire department. Libraries. Public schools. Safety net. And so on. But I really hate this each year when I see about 20% (effective tax rate) of my hard earned income goes to State and Federal Income Tax. And then there is sales tax, property tax, fees, fines, licenses, payroll FICA taxes (social security and medicare).

Then throw in how much I pay each year for Insurance that I hope I don't actually have to use! Auto, home, health, life, disability and whatever else I am covered for, it starts to get sickening.

I just had to get that off my chest. I need to get a dog so I can beat it.

Pfffft, I wish that were the case. I have a small mortgage worth of debt that I will be paying on for years to come. I'm also back in the ranks of the taxed, but enjoying it far more than being a poor student.

I'm just a glass is half full kind of guy.
