Hi All,

Just wanted to say Hi, My names Greg from boston ma. I joined the forums because I've had a bad shoulder the past 4 years and had surgery last December. Was at the gym yesterday and dislocated it again for the first time since my surgery (was doing a workout i may have done 80 times since surgery). Im bumming it really hurt and didnt expect that to happen all was going well and i was about to start my first cycle to beef my shoulder up even more. Did all the 32 weeks of physical therapy and everything. Im just 23 years old was going to the gym 3-4 times a week working out with the right techniques. Put 30 lb's on just eating healthy and creatine. If anyone has similar shoulder problems id love to hear your regimen. Thanks all, Greg

Thanks for your replies, Well basically when i was 18 I dislocated my right shoulder wakeboarding (Like water skiing). Over the next 3-4 years it dislocated 12-15 times and got easier and easier to "dislocate" My doctor then recommended surgery so i got a "Bankart" surgery where they reconnect the tendons with anchors and a pin i believe. That surgery was 11 months ago and everything was fine until it dislocated yesterday. Its my front tendon / labrum. No matter what i do the muscle does not want to grow that's where the shoulder dislocates from, ive physically seen it push out their. I've been taking my physical health seriously since this surgery, eating right working out properly not going to heavy just focusing on technique... Thanks again, Greg.

Look up rotator cuff exercises and use those to help strengthen your shoulder up.

Yeah i learned a lot from physical therapy. I'm hoping to come across someone that has had similar problems that found something that helped them a good regimen. Sucks yesterday i felt the best iv'e felt in years and now i feel pretty damn weak stuck at home..

Has anyone ever had any luck with PRP therapy (Platelet-rich plasma) / peptides for any shoulder injuries or major joints... I want anything i can talk to the doc about..

I do my rotator cuff exercises before every single workout. Its basically became my warmup/stretching/injury prevention. What really fixed it for me was packing on significant mass, which helped keep my shoulder in place. I know that sounds like a little too much "bro science", but thats what finally worked.

I did a small cycle of TB500 to help heal up my chronic tennis elbow. It definitely helped speed up recovery. But its not a miracle drug. Resting, taking it slow, and building up support are the ultimate treatment.

Stay away from the bench press. I've talked to a lot of older bodybuilders/powerlifters who bench press a lot since their youth. They all tell me their shoulders are gone, lol. Even with correct form it just happens. I prefer weighted dips personally but that can also upset a bad shoulder. Lighter/high rep bench press should be okay if your shoulder gets back to normal. That kind of injury never truly heals though, even with surgery. My friend who does muay thai, he messed up his shoulder once and it's never been the same. Surgery helped with the pain though.

Thanks for the replies everyone, glad i joined these forums everyone seems very helpful.. I wont know much until i see the doctors/MRI but damn i thought i was doing well with my shoulder regimen, for it to dislocate at the gym like that is crazy.. I would warmup on the cable machine doing the internal / external rotations just for the rotator cuff and it still always felt weak even after 6 months so im telling the doctor that..(I let my muscles rest especially my shoulders) I did bench which I am going to stop but only once a week and i would stop before the bar hit my chest. I'm just afraid that some gear would either fix me or break me at this point i do think it may be helpful though.. Thanks again everyone..

like someone said before you have youth going for you, so see your surgeon and see if you need another repair, I waited way to look, 10+ years to get surgery, at that point there was only so much they could do for me.

My shoulder definitely aches after benching, switched to incline a long time ago that seems to help.

Look up prolothearpy injections, that help me for a long time, until i dislocated it again in an ATV accident.

Also liquid glucosamine seems to help.
