Hi guys,
Great forum going on here, really informative. Thought I'd just share my story with a couple of questions. To preface this, I'm 24 years old...6' and floating around 180.
After I started noticing I was lethargic, tired, and a major loss of sex drive, I went to my PCP. He ran a panel of blood tests and my total T came back at around 300, everything else was in range. He said my thyroid and pituitary are functioning correctly, so he wasn't sure what the issue was. He sent me to an Endo for further testing.
Endo ran another T panel and my total came back at 218! Shockingly low for my age. Without even thinking he prescribed me T injections...and I was very hesitant. I don't have any fear of needles, but it just sounded like a drastic approach to the problem. Mainly because no one actually knows what is causing my low T.
I wanted another opinion, so I went to a Urologist. I asked him about various other options that I had researched such as Clomid and HCG, and he mainly just said those are for men who are having infertility issues.
He prescribed me Testim and I started taking it today, just 1 tube a day. From browsing around these forums it seems like people's results with the gels/creams are hit or miss, and mainly go to injections down the line. I figure I can give it a shot (haha), and if it doesn't get me the results I want I can switch over to T cyp.
How long does it typically take for the body to respond to Testim? A couple of weeks?
Again, great forum. I look forward to any responses.
