Looking for a bit of advise

I am ready to take my training to the next level and just looking for a little advise. I planned to run my first cycle this winter, just a simple test e 500/wk x12 weeks and nolva 40-40-20-20. From what I have researched this is pretty standard first cycle.

I called my source yesterday and he ask why I thought I needed Nolva. He said that everyone in our "group" runs test with NO post cycle therapy (pct). He said that at 500 a week I would not need any kinda post cycle therapy (pct). Now this goes against everything I have read, but at the same time all these guys are seasoned vets and everyone competes.

So why would he reccomend NO pct??

Just when I think I have it figured out, this kinda shit confuses the hell outta me...

Westside style of training and compete in several full power meets a year.
Gym best are: 405 bench, 550 squat, 515 dead.
My training is dialed in, my diet is great- No alcohol, no soda, very little procesed foods, primarily meats, veggies, good fats, and some fruit.
