Looking for advice

I am new to the forum and new to testosterone useage although I have done some extensive reading. I am looking for some advice and direction. I am 44 years old and have always been active and worked out on a somewhat regular basis. About six months ago, I became very sluggish and inactive and had no stamina or interest in working out. Recently, I've decided that my body was getting out of hand and just didn't really like the way I felt anymore so I went back to the gym and just didn't have any energy. I made an appointment with a local doctor seeking advice on possibly using testosterone. I had several tests ran and the results were as follows: Testosterone 754.9 LH 1.6 Estradiol 28.8 DHEA 442.1 TSH 1.5
Free T4 1.2 Free T3 3.2 IGF-1 198 Cortisol 10.3 Insulin 7.0 HgbAIC 4.9 Homocysteine 12.1 C-reactive protein 0.2 PSA 1.0 Vitamin D 37 Vitamin B-12 553.6 Cholesterol 181.0 HDL 58.6 Triglycerides 94.0 I also had a body composition study done and it revealed an imbarrassing 31.2 % fat.

My goal is to lower the body % fat and to add lean muscle. We talked about testosterone therapy but I got lost in the conversation. I did receive an injection this past wednesday from him of Testosterone cypionate 350 mg, was given a perscription for Armour Thyroid (T4-T3) and oral vitamin B-12 1,000 mcg daily. It was explained to me that this was a starting point and he wanted to see how my body would react and follow up blood tests on Jan 18, 2012.

To me 350 mg of testosterone seems, from literature that I've read, a low dose.

Any advice on diet, work outs, or doseages would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Total t of 754 at 44 without testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) or with??

If it's without then I have no idea why you would want to shut your natty production down with testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), that's a higher level then most mid 20yr olds.

If it's with testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) then what day after shot was test taken? Is the 350ng weekly?

I dont mean to bust your balls, but it seems like your doc has no idea at all of what he is doing. You need test, Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), and an Aromatase inhibitor (AI). Period. I dont think you mentioned how often he is injecting you, but a single dose of 350mgs is not "low" by any means. Its more than some people take every 10 days. I suggest you get with an outfit like maximus Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) that specializes in Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and only hrt. Have a merry christmas.

The 350 mg was what I received on December 22, 2011. Will not receive another until january 18 th 2012, At which time I was told that I may receive an injection twice a month. He did not discuss with me how many mg the bimonthly injections would be.

Setting aside the fact that your bloods looked GREAT prior to starting TRT. That's an awful protocol. You should be getting at least 100mg week, 100mg every 5 days would work better. Shoot at 350 once a month you will have a week or so above your awesome prior natty levels and the other 3 weeks it will be lower an lower. So you'll get a few day high, shut down your natty production and have 3 weeks near zero. Wonderful...
