What are your symptoms? WHY do you think you have low blood Iron (very uncommon in men by the way).

Does this sound like you? (Signs of Iron Deficient Anemia):

Pale skin color (pallor)
Fatigue
Irritability
Weakness
Shortness of breath
Sore tongue
Brittle nails
Unusual food cravings (called pica)
Decreased appetite (especially in children)
Headache - frontal
Blue tinge to sclerae (whites of eyes)

???

Iron carries and releases oxygen from your red blood cells and is the main determinant of the oxygen supply to your cells. Iron participates in the energy production systems in your body through several mechanisms. Low iron leads to chronic fatigue and lethargy. Other symptoms of decreased iron levels are poor concentration, impaired attention span, poor learning, and low moods.

The best blood test for determining iron status is serum ferritin, which measures the level of stored iron available in your body.

I have been extremely fatigued and been getting light headed for the last week or so and I used to actually get dizzy and light headed when I was younger so it is making me wonder here. I started taking an iron supplement yesterday and I actually feel a little better today, but who knows if it is from that. Can having low test though in any way affect blood iron?

Not that I am aware of (perhaps indirectly..bump for BUFFDOC). Low TEST levels can make you feel what you've described though....low concentration levels and low energy. The dizziness concerns me though.

i thought i was anemic and i was taking like 300mg of iron a day. but then found out that my iron levels are high so i stopped taking them. didn't notice a difference on or off.

Bwahaha dont worry bro, you not going to die from it! It goes away in most cases by taking iron pills. It is extremely rare for guys to get it but guys on steroids is different. Just get those balls working again and if not, go on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), simple as that.

If you had a blood test lately, they would have told you.

I get tested on monday so I am just going to have them test for that. I am sure most my problems are stemming from the low free test, but we will see.

Your probably right.
