I have always had a much harder time dropping bodyfat than gaining new muscle. I had tried the usual clen/T3 combo before but I was never entirely happy with the results. I would like to try GH but since I am not able to afford it right now, I decided to try DNP instead. My cycle went like this:
Days 1-4: 200mg
Days 5-8: 400mg (2x200)
Days 9-12: 200mg
Days 1-12: 50mcg T3
During this time, I also used 900mg test and 50mg Winstrol (winny). The only supplement I used was 600mg of r-ALA.
Overall, I cannot complain about the results. I went from 237 to 231 in less than two weeks. I would have liked to run it at 400mg for more than 4 days, but I just couldn't take the discomfort anymore. I normally took the first dose between 7-9 am and the second dose between 11-12. By 1pm I was totally miserable. I have a desk job in an air-conditioned building, but even without moving at all, my shirt was totally drenched. Just sitting at my desk I was sweating as much as I normally do after a heavy set of squats. I am surprised that nobody at work said anything to me. The only way I was able to be semi comfortable was to not move at all and sit in front of a fan. I cannot imagine what it must be like to take 600mg or even 800mg.
On the positive side, I didn't have a problem with energy and my workouts didn't suffer at all.
I don't know whether it was simply the fact that I have been dieting for a while or whether it was related to DNP, but I was constantly craving carbs. Now some people may think that given the large increase in energy consumption, you can eat like crap and still lose weight -- and for some people that actually seems to be the case -- but when I tried that for the first 3 days, I didn't lose any weight at all. My conslusion is that the best way to use DNP is to take enough anti-catabolics (tren/winny) to minimize muscle loss, and then to basically starve yourself for two weeks while using enough DNP and T3 to force your body to keep burning lots of calories. Normally that would be a bad way to diet, but for the short time that you use DNP (10-14 days) all the normal rules go out the window. The only alternative would be to use a very low dose (100-200mg) and just do your regular diet. That may actually be the better way to do it, but I am not convinced that DNP is completely safe. I am willing to take the risk for 14 days, but I don't think I would want to take it for 6-8 weeks.
