Low T and my doc is clueless.

Haha. Well I can say that doing testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) with Chip has been the best decision I have made in regards to my health. Keep in mind, I went to a handful of doctors before finally going with the best. Once Chip got me dialed in, I feel like a million bucks. Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is extremely affordable and it is money well spent. Good luck getting your doctors to prescribe you an efficient protocol because most of them are not well versed in testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) therapy. Either way, good luck. I am sure you will be calling Chip.

Well I got my labs.
My total test is 336 with a range of 300-1080. I've filled out the maximus questionaire and left a message for chip. I'm looking forward to getting all the specifics and hopefully feeling good again for the first time in years.

Welcome back to life ! You won't regret signing up with Maximus.

I had an issue Christmas morning at 1:30am and needed some fast direction from Chip. I shot him an email and went to bed, when I woke up at 9am he had already responded!
Wife said there's no way he is going to respond to you on Christmas... But she was wrong. Just one of many examples as to why signing with Maximus has been great for me.

going to see my Dr tomorrow for bloodwork and hopefully get some info on TRT. Any suggestions going in? Also, any suggestions on persuading him to prescribe injections verse creme?

thanks in advance! I want to try this and hope for the best, but will be quick to seek other avenues if this does not seem to heading in the right direction.

brooklyn, I've read some of your posts and you seem like a decent guy. I didn't see where you feel like shit, but maybe I missed this. Don't be in a hurry, and don't procrastinate. Get a physical (including DRE), and get Chips paper filled out for when you end up going that route later. Get your blood work, and insist that you get all the required blood work including T3,T4,TSH,FSH,LH,T,free T, total E, e1,e2,e3, etc. If your T is low, find out why if possible. If you skip something, then it can take another 2 weeks, so be thorough.

You can't educate your Dr., and be prepared for a big let down because he just doesn't know HRT. It's not his fault, but he is not an Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) specialist. He may want you to go to an Endo, we can just about all agree that they are not Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) specialists either. How do I know all of this? The same way as everybody else on here, we all went through the same BS.

There was an excellent post in here about how to go about using shots vs injections. You wrestle w/your kids, right? Do a search and it'll come up. Even if he does prescribe injections, how much and at what intervals? So you get a shot of 350 every 3 weeks. You'll be in for the roller coaster ride of your life.

I'm trying to help you out, those are the realities. There’s only one guy that I know of who can dial you right in, but you already know that.

Great post, frustrated.....

Brooklyn185.... Go ahead and get your paperwork in brother. Now or later. Either way, chances are, we'll be working together. Best of luck.

well I went to the Dr today and got my blood work done. After discussing with the doctor my symptoms, he was stuck on my lack of sleep and fatigue as being the problems I suffer with libido, etc.... He prescribed me Lenesta (sleep aid) and wants to see where that leads. Of coarse he has no idea yet what my levels are.

Chip: i am pretty confident that this Dr will not help me; but I had to go this route to start with. My question is 1)how can I get a the price sheet from you? 2) can I supply you my blood work results from my visit in lieu of getting them re-done? 3) how long are your clients typically on TRT?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry your Dr. visit didn't go so well. To be expected though.

Just chiming in to help Chip out.
1) Fill out the medical and patient form on his site.
2) Yes as long as you get all the tests done, then fax them to Chip.
3) Hormone replacement is Forever. And it's testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) when only Testosterone is used, and HRT when you keep your balls, and keep your Estrogen levels under control.

You are correct in assuming that your Dr. will do nothing for you. As is already obvious. Most Dr's would rather prescribe something for energy/brain fog, something for ED, something for depression, and possibly something for sleep. The problem with that is you'll feel worse than ever. But your Dr will feel better because he's treating your symptoms.

Read a few more posts about how Chips guys feel.

Military?

How does the maximus testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) treatment work for active duty military? Are we able to participate in this?

have you visited your PCM first and checked? i know military doctors (I just retired) are reluctant to provide test, Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), etc. In fact, i Could never get them to test me for it. They are perfectly willing to throw drugs at the symptoms without getting to the root of the whole problem.

that said, i really couldnt comment on whether they would approve or not. I guess the only way is to ask. Your under care of a doctor and you have scripts.

I was involved in a case where a service member was separated for going to an out of service doctor for ADD medication and he tested positive on a piss test for amphetimines but i highly doubt they would test (or could test) for anything in a testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) protocol.

Hey guys, I've got a quick question, hopefully Chip will see this and chime in. I forgot to mention I had a visectomy a few years back and I was wondering how that will effect the need for hcg.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it would still benifit you in that it stimulates the pituitary gland and testes to produce hormones. You would just not be getting the benifit of fertility and bigger / thinker loads.

HCG IS GOING TO KEEP THE BALLS FROM SHRIVELING UP AND KEEP YOU VOLUME OF SEMINAL FLUID UP. JUST CAUSE YOU GOT SNIPPED DOESNT MEAN THAT YOU STILL SHOULDN'T BE FIRING OFF THE "MONEY SHOT"...:shoot7:

Dried raisens vs. Locked and loaded boulders....Sounds like a good reason to take it. Thanks Chip, and i'll probably be calling you tomorrow after my Dr. Appointment.

Just to follow up: I called my doctors office to inquire about the results of my blood work. The doctors nurse, or someone, started rattling off all the numbers (iron, liver, Cholesterol, etc....) and said Testosterone "450". I asked her what that meant and she told me that the doctor would go over the results during our visit in two weeks. I know that is a below average # for a 43 year old, but alone it is not too low. Are there variables that may be missing? I hear a lot about "free test", "total test" etc.... Anything you guys recommend asking the doctor specicially since I think you have more knowledge in this arena than he does?

You can request your labs. That's what I did and it was as easy as a phone call to my Dr. And signing a release and faxing it back to them then they faxed me my labs. The labs will have the levels tested and the mins and maxes for each test. On mine 330 was the min and I was 369 total test.
