This is very subjective, some people swear by one or the other or both. I believe in both, but unless my insurance is gonna pay I'd rather get a massage, more bang for your buck in my eyes. A cheap version though would be a foam roller, some guys swear by it, and it will do alot of the work a massage does for you.
