MCT vs The Other Oils - is there really anything to the MCT claims?

I have read a lot about MCT and how it "make the body shed its current fat stocks in favor of this far superior fat"...which is obviously a well written line of horse shit. But is there anything at all to using MCT over other oils? Olive Oil has a superior taste, but if MCT does have superior benefits it may be worth shifting to.

What say you all?

I bought MCT oil and it gave me a bit of a stomachache. I think there was a thermogenic effect...possibly placebo. I would take it with a protein shake in the morning before heading to the gym. Over time my body started to get used to it. It's a bit expensive for me and it's not on 3J's list of OK oils so I've not used it since. Coconut oil is also not 3J approved for me...which is unfortunate because I really like the taste. I now use the coconut oil for oil pulling. My mouth feels great for it...but again, could be placebo. I've got a big tub that's just sitting there.

Sorry...not much help. I have seen guys at the gym mix MCT oil and carbs/juice to fuel their workouts. Not sure about the science behind that.

MCT fats are more readily used by the liver and are a great source of ketones if on a ketogenic diet. The funny thing is that they're readily available in many foods that people already consume like cheese and milk. The thermogenic effect is something I haven't really read about much, but I'm sure there's some marketing wizardry at play on top of some legitimate research.
