I've read about baking gear for sterility, but would it work if I threw it in the microwave?

Wel microwaves are less harmful than radiowaves, but i dont think they will hurt your gear. However, i think you will lose some as it will start bubbling in a matter of minutes and pressure will build up fast, you will evaporate the BA or you might lose some of it. I dont think it is a wise decision.

I wouldnt recommend microwaving your gear because you cannot monitor the temperature and may get to hot and possibly ruin your gear. Stick to the oven

Microwaving or baking is not the way to go...........just run your gear through a .22 micron filter and by US standard it will be sterile.
