Muscle Imbalance Question

My right shoulder is not as developed and seems at times weaker than the left. I pretty much use the same weight and reps. I dont think there is anything physically wrong...I asked a doctor.

Question:
Have you heard of this before...and will maybe working the right harder help?

Thanks

is there any numbness or tingling in the weak area or further down the arm? has this just hapened or has it been like this a while? how long you been training? doctors dont always agree with each other, if you know what i mean. doctors are the third leading cause of death in the united states. scarey huh?

It could be the illusion of shape or it could be scoliosis, normally though it effects the whole side of the body appearing smaller/weaker.

Are you left handed? Typically you will see that the dominant arm will have more developed muscle mass. It will look differently and looking from the front you will see that your dominant side will have a more depressed shoulder. It may also be more towards the front then the other one as well.

Thanks for the replys.

I have been lifting for about 2 years. No real numbenss etc otherwise. Sometimes when I sleep on it wrong maybe.

I am right handed. There is no other imbalance I can see in my body.

So??

Ya, typical imbalance related to the dominant side. It's probably more noticable to you than to others because you're scrutinizing, but if it's important than do more work for that side..

is your form exactly even on both sides when you are pressing etc?
ask someone at the gym to observe you training and ask them to point out any differences?
just a suggestion

do 2 extra sets of a med.light exercise for the weaker one
had the same thing
make some extra things every workout and you'll get over it ....

I have the same problem, but mine is due to a fucked up shoulder. It has been improved though with a chiro, next is having someone rip the scar tissue apart.
