My DHT is low

Damn pituitary gland. My DHT is currently at 29, and prolactin is 7 something. I understand that in an ideal world DHT should be around 60-70, and prolactin should be around 2-3. I'm looking for a real Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) long term solution to this fucked up pituitary gland. So... Of those that have low DHT, how did you raise it up?

How about slightly lowering prolactin?

I've googled this to witts end. I can find temporary solutions. Fact-less hearsay, Guesses. But no concrete evidence.

Maybe I'm missing something else, and this is the result. Any thoughts?

Frustrated.. good to see you posting again.. I learned a lot from your earlier posts..

Anti-histamines and anti-depressant's raise prolactin from what I have read. Not sure if you take any of those.

I know if your zinc deficient, and I think I read somewhere most men are you can have a rise in prolactin. I've read that Zinc and B6 supplementation can help lower prolactin as well.

I'm not suggesting ZMA is your answer for high prolactin but supplementing with zinc, magnesium and B6 (ZMA) wouldn't hurt if your not already. You'd probably have to add some extra supplemental zinc to get your zinc to adequate levels if your deficient though. Anyway, looking at your bodies minerals is never a waste of time in my opinion. I know when I forget to take ZMA @ night I usually don't get as deep sleep and don't usually get morning wood unless I do.

Dopamine levels drop when prolactin rises also. You know dopamine is neurotransmitter that has many functions but I know it helps with a sense of well being or satisfaction as well as libido. Fava beans have been shown to raise dopamine.

Regarding DHT, how are your free T levels? Your E2 levels?

Thanks BDZ, glad I could help.

My Free T is good, and E2 is/was too low.

I've researched this a lot yesterday. I should have been posting notes in here, which is what I'm going to start doing.

DHT has no known effect on woman.

DHT is a steroid on steroids, literally. It is 3-10x(depending on source of information) more powerful than Testosterone for building muscle mass. With a low number, erections won't happen without a male pill, and libido will remain low. It has a bad reputation because if the number gets really high (like thousands) male pattern baldness occurs. So, like all hormones there is an ideal target level, in this case it seems that 60-70 is pretty close. And it is a great estrogen inhibitor.

T -> DHT via 5***945;-Reductase enzyme. Which is also why most people on T have the opposite problem. It's pretty easy to lower DHT, much harder to raise it once it plummets. So I want to keep this thread clean for low DHT sufferers. Since we are on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) there is even less good data for us. For example there are products that can raise T, and thus HDT. Since we already have near perfect T levels, that data won't do us any good.

I also know that in other countries like Europe, and Asia they can get DHT by scripts. But it works just like T, in that your own system will shut down. Not what I want to do, plus it's damn expensive, and not available in the US.

Now everything else that I'm going to say is questionable. So please feel free to give me your thoughts on this.

These are supposed to help increase DHT
Creatine, Tribulus, DHEA, zinc, ginseng, B6, magnesium oil, dbol, winni, T cream like Andro Gel and Testim.

nettle root is supposed to help with free DHT, but could be considered a weak inhibitor (AKA not really what I want)

Here's an excellent article that I read.
