my problem, where to start?

hey yo
G'day guys, im 20 years old, 5'10 and 175pnds, ive been training pretty half assed for just over a year now and have stacked on about 22 pnds in the process (i was mega skinny to begin with), my problem is though that in the process of gaining that weight in a year ive got a slight gut and ass (ive also made muscular gains too, but still a bit thin for my liking), i was jus wanting to know whether i should start cutting to get rid of the excess body fat and then start a lean bulking cycle. My original bulking cycle was for like a year and i pretty much ate a lot of shit, so any input would be greatly appreciated.

Any help would be appreciated, cheers.
 
yeah when you get ripped, you're usually pretty healthy at that point and you just feel stronger, at least i do.

A trainer told me it was better to bulk up first and then get ripped, is he wrong?

Just wondering because I'm trying to decide whether it's best for me to be cutting or bulking right now. (im 6 ft @ 165 and I have a bit of extra fat I need getting rid of)

holy crap, your 6 foot and weight 165 and u have fat?

im 5 11 and 160 and im pretty lean. i would suggest bulking for you (as if i have the exp. or knowlege to tell u that)


my goal is to weigh ~200 @ ~9%bf and my stradegy is bulk then cut.

i dont weigh all that much, and im 6 ft, but i still am not happy with the amount of fat i have. how do u measure % body fat exactly? thx.
