Hey guys, just joined and im new to all of this stuff so im sorry if im seem highly uneducated. I am 25 year old male living in Toronto and just havent felt right for a long long time now. I have felt very lethargic and tired all the time, even after a full nights rest, I have low to zero sex drive and just feel very unenthusiastic about life in general. I finally went to my doctor and we ran a blood test for my test levels among other things although it was not a full panel. My levels came back substantially deficient for a 25 year old. Total test-9.3 nmol/L and Free test-8.1 nmol/L. Like I said im not highly educated on this but I did do some research and this seems very low for a guy my age. Long story short my doctor put me on test E 200mg injections once monthly with no thought too E2 levels nor any Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) regimen ( I thought this was standard protocol ). I feel good for the week after the shot but feel very low again the last 2 weeks of the month. Is this normal? My doc says we will never be doing anything but this dose and only once a month ever. Wondering what to do. Also with the levels that I have, is testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) something that is even needed? I honestly dont feel like the man/person I should or could be. I just feel so down and limited in regards to so many things. Will testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) help me?, ruin my body?, so sorry for all the questions guys

This is a terrible regimen.

200mg a shot is a lot -you're likely to get side effects like high E2. 200mg per month is almost certainly not enough. Good testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) programs are something like 50-100mg of cyp twice a week. With smallish injections like that you're very likely to not need Aromatase inhibitor (AI) at all and you can be a healthy, steady level. If your doctor isn't going to change you should change doctors.

And yes, feeling good for a week or two and worse for a week or two is exactly what you would expect from this protocol.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, Yea this doc is very arrogant and seems to feel very threatened when I bring up these types of points like E2 and hcg. He really doesnt like when I talk about the extreme fluctuations in my test levels with the once a month shots. I just dont understand, isnt the point of me doing this to make me feel better and not worse. he says 200mg a month is a high dose and no more is needed... WTFFFFF

Get a new doctor. Once a month is retarded. Enough said.

Just start splitting the doses on your own. I assume you are self-injecting. If not you should be.

The most you can get away with is once every 10 days.

Physicians prescribe 2-400 mg every 2 to 4 weeks cause thats what it says on a bottle of Watson Test Cyp :wink2:

A 25 year old otherwise healthy young man with extremely low androgen levels isn't normal...something is wrong with you!

This MD just throwing Testosterone at you without conducting any thorough medical evaluation and diagnosis is malpractice in my book.

You're not even old enough to be at peak!

You need to find a Doctor right quick who understands these things and find out why your androgen levels are so low.

Did you get your Prolactin serum level checked?

My first thoughts are Pituitary Adenoma.

Also, did he do a physical evaluation of your testicles? Testicular Varicocele, while somewhat uncommon, can cause your condition and is seen more in younger men than older.

Hell, there's probably 25 things that need to be ruled out as to why your serum levels are so low.

You have the wrong Doctor. You need to get a complete physical and hormonal lab done and evaluated by a competent testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) physician.

I can't stress enough how you need to find the right care. This current Doc is causing you serious harm.

Im on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) im 32 but I didnt start having probs until about 29. I take 100mg shot monday morning and 100mg shot Thursday night thats 200mg split directly in half through the week. I take Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) because even with test if it isn't high it will still hinder sex drive because of testy atrophy. (Shutting ur balls down) and ive noticed my sex drive is better when I take my arimidex at night before bed. I hope this helps if u have any questions hit me up, I was once where u sit and I was miserable, so im all about helping out.

Thanks man I really appreciate all the advice from this site. A lot of stand up guys on here who really seem to care. Like I said i am fairly new to this but i sure have done some research because I always like to know the full story. I have read so many articles, publications and personal experiences to have a general knowledge of what needs to be done with testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) but everytime I bring this stuff up to my doc he seems to get angry and threatened and pull the whole " im the doctor and I know what im doing " speel. I dont know if its because he feels undermined when I seem to know what im talking about but regardless hes my doctor and should be doing everything he can to make me better but He just doesnt seem to get it.

I hear you man, but it's your health not your Doctor's! You must take charge and get the right care. If this pompous ass won't listen to you because of his ego he's putting your health and well-being in jeopardy...is that what you really want?

Man-up and find a new Doctor who will collaborate with you and guide you to better health and happiness my friend!

Yea thats exactly the plan. Been looking for docs steady now for about a month but its proving difficult. They all seem to want $500 - $1000 just to get in the door and sit down with them which is going to be a hard thing to pull off in my situation but im determined to get this shit figured out. im sick of living like this ya know.

Why not call our site sponsor LowTestosterone.com? They even pay to fly you in and see their Doc if not one in your area. All in @ $199/month is a great deal.

I am curious to know more about how/where you are finding these doctors if they are asking money out of you. I am in Canada as well. Our health care is free. I have never even heard of anyone having to pay money just to see the doctor. Paying for medication, procedures, etc is another matter entirely. But just to see the doctor?! I don't even think that is legal here. Is this some sort of under-the-table medical services they are proposing to offer you for a fee of <insert price here>?

That is amazing! My test is in normal range but I think it is absolutely outstanding such a great site exists willing to offer that service! :) Low testosterone is an issue the medical profession as a whole seems hopelessly ignorant about. I had to push extremely hard just to even get basic hormones test that weren't total testosterone - E2, free T, LH, FSH, etc. Again, major props to the creators of that site to ensure men can get the PROPER medical evaluation they need!

I was surprised by this as well but No word of a lie there email says. I charge 350 just for the first visit, 250 for every visit after that, plus tests, prescriptions etc. I thought this was strange but its a legit doctor in toronto so I dont know whats going on

Don't you have docs in Canada that are specialists and not part of the national health care system?

I think they do a similiar thing in the UK too.
