Need advice, thinking of switching from Testim to Cyp Injections

I'm 36. 5'10, 180, good shape.

I started having symptoms of low test at 26. Had my levels tested, was 298, was referred to a urologist. Urologist just laughed, gave me a script for Viagra.

Went back to my general practitioner six months ago. Had my levels tested again. I was at 401. Not satisfied with that, I asked if I could start TRT. He started me on one tube of Testim a day, went back a month later for another test, down to 114! Went on two tubes. A month later my number was 601. Have been on two tubes ever since. Was recently tested, 680. My doc is slightly concerned that my free test is slightly higher than the normal range. I feel good. I have more energy, improved libido, no noticeable side effects. I don't mind the smell (like alcohol for a few minutes) or the stickiness (not much if you rub the heck out of it with a plastic baggie). However, I am concerned about passing it on to my girlfriend. Who wants to wear a t-shirt during sex? I use a baggie like a glove to put it on, so it doesn't get on my hands, but she grabs my shoulders during the act, so I've started wearing a t-shirt.

I've been reading a lot about people doing two shots of Cyp per week. That sounds like what I want to do. How much would be equivalent to two tubes of testim a day? I was thinking about 50mg every 3 or 4 days, 100mg total per week. Does that sound about right?

I have good insurance. It's 20 bucks a month for the two tubes of testim per day, but I downloaded a coupon off the testim website and the first 12 copays are free, so I've been on it for six months and haven't paid a cent yet.

If you guys have any advice, let me know. I've learned so much from lurking in forums like this.

Hey bro, when I was 36 I had low test levels too, just natural as you get older. I also went on Gel. Androgel to be exact. Honestly the small percent of test that is absorbed throgh the skin almost seemed primative to the reaction I felt from 100/ml of test cyp a week. It also stabilized my test levels by shooting the same amount at the same time every week. Talk to your DR. he will shoot you in his office if you don't like pins.

I also didn't like spreading the gel right on my shoulders and close to my chest. where gyno exists. Lucky for me I'm not prone. My cycles consist of up 800/ml test sometimes and never had a flare... knock wood!

I've never used the cream so I don't have a personal frame of reference for that specifically.

However, I am on 200 mg/Test Cyp 1x a week plus 500 iu Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) 1x a week. I also use Adex as an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) on Mon and Thurs at .5 mg each time. Lastly, I use a 5-AR inhibitor to reduce any possible impact to my hair line.

My urologist and I have evolved to this protocol over the past several months.

I feel great. Energy level is up, gained back a few pounds of lost muscle, surprisingly to me, my cognitive focus has also improved. So, I have nothing but positive things to say about HRT.

Now, I have test levels that are higher than most MDs would like. My total test is between upper 900s - 1700s from my most recent paired blood draws. My free test is also pretty high by the "standard range."

I've convinced my urologist to work with me between this range b/c I feel so darn good compared to a year ago when I was naturally at 579 total test.

The one thing you mentioned is 2x a week shots. You will get more stable blood levels by injecting smaller amounts 2x a week. I even considered it myself. In the end I decided it is just a "pain in the butt" to shoot twice a week.

Regardless, I encourage you to do your homework and look in the weekly (or 2x a week) injections with a long ester form of test. It requires a little fine tuning for each person but once you get it dialed in for yourself, you feel great.

This didn't produce significant elevations in my LH or FSH levels.

We switched to 500 iu the day before my test injection -bingo FSH and LH jumped and remained in an acceptable range for the duration of the week.

As far as estrogen-related side effects, the Adex 2X a week at .5 mg each time seems to cover me pretty well in that regard.

With Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), there seems to be more of an individualized effect. I know, after 3 months of trial and error, I am one of the folks that requires a higher single treatment as opposed to divided applications throughout the week.

Today, I saw an opportunity to potentially "mend fences" and for you to give a response that would solidify the very SIMPLE FACT that we ALL respond differently to different applications and that furthermore, getting Aromatase inhibitor (AI) usage "dialed in", is ALL trial and error.
