need ground beef data

my fat loss has stalled the last 2 weeks, and i've examine a lot of variables in attempt to figure it out, and i'm wondering if i could be using too much ground beef per meal. i buy 80% lean ground chuck, which says its 20g of Protein and 23g of Fat per 4oz. I've been using 16 oz. per meal, once or twice a day. i cook it in a pan, then drain as much fat as can, rinse it with hot water, and drain the pan again. is this not getting enough fat out? obviously, especially with my beef/rice meals, the fat needs to be negligible. 16 oz seems right for me based on protein needs, but if i'm not getting enough of the fat out, that could be the problem.

you're eating upwards of 20% fat?! holy fuck. actually, i assume you're cooking the ground beef...whereupon, if you drain it, then at least 40% of the fat is actually drained-off or cooked-off. still, ground beef is usually an expensive variation of dog food. better to get the leanest ground beef you can find - i used to get steaks ground up once in a while. but better to just eat 'em as they come. if you can stand the taste, eat more fish for sure. turkey is also another great recommendation.

diegothailand: He is going to an extreme to drain the fat from the ground beef.

I assume that cost is a big consideration for him and 93% lean ground beef is comparatively expensive. 93% lean also tends to burn due to lack of fat.

Sounds like it was working, which was great, but if your fat loss stalled then yeah, maybe you need to change a variable and see what happens.

ahh...i stand humbly corrected, mr anak. i didn't read his originally message thoroughly. you're right.

lay off the donuts.

yes cost is the primary factor. at 1.69/lb the 80% ground beef is even cheaper than the bulk chicken i buy at costco.
