Need testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) advice

Need TRT advice

What's up everyone! I am a 39 yom who has been dealing with fatigue, irritability etc for about 2 years. I have worked out my whole life but the last year I have had to take a pre workout just to have energy. I am a firefighter at a busy station and I always wrote it off to being up so much at night. I finally went in and talked to my doc and said "I am sick of feeling like crap. I need you to figure this out." I had a physical and everything looked good. He then checked my T level. It was 220. After a month of sublingual troche it was 180. I am now getting 200mg of Cypionate every 2 weeks. We tried this for 6 weeks and checked my levels again. It was 120. I am guessing my body has stopped all production and we checked my level after two weeks which would account for the low number. My doc now moved me to every 10 days. Here is my question. How long does it take to notice the effects. I can tell a difference in my sex drive and my workouts are way more productive. Strength, pumps, vascularity. But I am still dragging. Last question. Should I have my doc check anything else? He is very open with me and seems to want to help. I told him everything I read said weekly shots work the best and he is open to that if every 10 days doesn't work. I went to a urologist and they liked the cream better but my doc said he likes shots better. Sorry for the long post. Any and all thoughts are appreciated.

yes shots are better. Try to go with at least one shot per week.

You need to get your thyroid checked as well. If your thyroid is not optimal it will cause all kinds of problems including fatigue.

also have him check estrogen and SHBG.

Welcome to the board Bryan, and your post wasn't long at all, especially for an introductory one! Congratulations on tackling your problem. Many people don't. It sounds like your doctor is trying to help but isn't as well informed on Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) as he could be. At least he is correct about the injections vs. cream. You are correct about needing to inject more frequently since cypionate don't last in the body for two weeks. There are indeed other things to test for, such as Estrogen (specifically E2) and most people on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) require an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) to keep that under control. You might notice your balls shrinking. Most guys here also take Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) to keep that from happening. Perhaps someone else here can point you to information that you can print and take to your doctor to bring him up to speed quickly. Good Luck, and let us know how it goes!
