Hi everyone. I need advice and opinions right now. I have been out of the gym for a few years and used to be in very good shape. I completely dislocated my shoulder and had a back injury snowboarding and it got me out of training and I kind of never came back. I've recently decided to get back into the gym because I miss it and I can really feel how the injuries have got my body and core and back out of balance. Been going to the chiro recently to get prepared to train and it has helped some and I feel I am ready to start lifting now. It has been 3 years since I trained.
My question is about my training split. I just started lifting again this week. I always used a split where I trained each body part one time a week and made great gains with that program (usually 1 body part per day sometimes 2 in a day if I missed a training session). Worked very well for me. My question is that with all of my strength gone (plus I'm finding I don't have the endurance to do high volume yet) should i train each body part 2 times per week until I feel like I can get up 10-12 good working sets per body part. This is my first week training in years and honestly I can only get 6-8 sets before i'm totally burned. (only 6 on small muscle groups like biceps)
What do you guys think would be best for the next 2 months or so. Obviously I won't be using any AAS until I'm back in very good shape again so I wanted to mention that just to make it clear. Thanks for your help.
