NAC or N Acetyl Cysteine is a derivative of cysteine, a semi-essential amino acid. It is a precursor to Glutathione, which is an essential anti-oxidant found in the body. It is important to note this as the benefits NAC has to offer are actually a result in the increase in this powerful antioxidant. The body converts NAC to Glutathione and that***8217;s where this amazing compound begins to work its magic.

The primary benefit NAC is known for (and perhaps deservedly so) is protecting and healing as well as detoxifying the liver. Glutathione has a profound effect on reducing and reversing cell death in hepatic (liver) tissue. It increases bile flow removing toxic bile slats more quickly, resulting in less cell damage and death. However its effects don***8217;t end there, it also promotes cellular regeneration and repair in hepatic as well as renal (liver and kidney) tissue. That***8217;s right, it not only heals but also generates healthy cell production in the liver and kidneys! This is evidenced in its use in the treatment of acute acetaminophen toxicity (overdose). It is also used as an oral chelation agent, removing heavy metal toxins from the body. It is also administered in the event of renal (kidney) failure to reverse kidney damage and promote healthy kidney function.

As you can see in and of itself the paragraph above on its own is more than enough reason to make this supplement a part of your regular supplementation routine. Especially given the stresses a bodybuilding lifestyle, and many of the compounds used in such a lifestyle, place on the liver and kidneys. However in researching further the benefits of this compound far from end there.

In addition to the powerful anti-oxidative effects NAC exhibits it also exerts a powerful anti-inflammatory effect in healthy cells. It***8217;s important to note the last portion of that sentence, in healthy cells, because in abnormal cells it exerts a pro-inflammatory response resulting in or contributing to abnormal cell death. Cells such as cancer cells. Due to the combination of powerful anti-oxidative properties and pro-inflammatory response on abnormal cells NAC aids in the prevention of cancer. This is not speculative- it is proven to do so even in smokers.

This transition nicely into the next benefit NAC has to offer. The reason I say this is because NAC seems to exhibit some particularly notable benefits in the pulmonary system of the lungs. So in addition to the prevention of many cancers including lung cancer, NAC promotes lung health. It removes mucus and other foreign substances from the lungs, improves cardio pulmonary function and has even been used successfully in the treatment of COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).

It cannot be emphasized enough the adverse effects oxidative stress and inflammation exert on the human body. NAC exhibits such a powerful effect in these 2 areas the list of benefits continues.

Oxidative stress and inflammation cause a myriad of problems in the gastro-intestinal tract and in fact entire digestive system. Everything from heart burn to ulcers. NAC treats and prevents both of these conditions safely and effectively.

Another benefit and tie in to the bodybuilding lifestyle is muscle recovery, soreness and repair. NAC***8217;s anti-inflammatory effects aid in negating muscle soreness and its powerful anti-oxidant effects actually aid in the recovery and repair of muscle tissue. Its promotion of healthy cell repair and regeneration is a huge benefit to resistance trained athletes of all kinds.

Two of the fastest growing healthcare issues faced today are metabolic syndrome and heart disease. Inflammation and oxidative stress play a key role in the reduction of sensitivity in the insulin receptor as well as an increase in triglyceride and ***8220;bad***8221; cholesterol levels which are both huge contributing factors to heart disease. NAC reverses and prevents both of these, lowering triglyceride and ***8220;bad***8221; cholesterol levels and reducing insulin resistance-these positive effects reduce the risk of heart disease substantially. Also this reduction in insulin resistance allows for better more efficient metabolism of carbohydrates and improves energy levels.

This is a perfect place to mention NAC***8217;s effects on the B family of vitamins. NAC improves the efficiency of all B vitamins. For example B-12 offers the benefits of improved carbohydrate metabolism and increased melatonin production allowing for increased energy and better quality sleep and rest. It also promotes proper liver function and cell repair and protection within the liver. NAC not only improves these factors on its own but as sated above improves the efficacy of B vitamins, amplifying the effects of say B-12, another popular staple supplement we are happy to offer for your benefit.

Oxidative stress suppresses the growth and production of beneficial bacteria within the body that are utilized to fight off infection and disease. 2 specific examples of this are bronchitis and ear infections. NAC has been proven, through its powerful anti-oxidative effects to reduce the risk of incurring these types of infection as well as to hasten the healing of those already afflicted.

The benefits of NAC are not just physical but mental in the form of psychiatric and cognitive. It has been shown effective in the treatment of depression and anxiety as well effectively enhancing mental acuity.

NAC also shows a marked reduction in the catabolic hormone cortisol. Excessive oxidative stress bought on by metal stress as well as the strain of physical activity such as resistance training fosters the optimal environment for the body to produce that undesirable hormone. NAC exerts powerful anti-oxidative effects, lowering the production of this hormone, sparing lean body mass in the process (muscle).

As you can see NAC is an amazing supplement. Initially looked into for its extreme liver and kidney protection and repair properties we were quite surprised at the myriad of positive benefits and effects this amazing supplement has to offer. It has great synergy with some of our other products such as B-12 and UDCA and should be a staple supplement for everyone. We are proud and excited to offer this product to you. In addition we are proud and are very excited ourselves to see just how beneficial this supplement is. It is an honor for us to be able to provide you with such an amazing product, with the research behind it, to be able to help you achieve your goals and do so safely and effectively, improving your overall health in the process!

Proper dosage of NAC is between 1200-1800mg daily.

You guys are either right with the times, or pay close attention to the threads around here. Either way, it's commendable as NAC is AMAZING stuff! You guys need to hire Austinite as a consultant as he tends to start these trends around here. ;)

I agree. RUI is like a one stop shop for a lot of your cycle needs. If you only knew in regards to your last sentence hahaha.

That being said I agree NAC is an excellent liver as well as all around excellent overall health/anti-oxaidant support supp that should be taken by essentially everyone. Its benefits are widespread and I hope to see it utilized more and more.

Excellent News! This will certainly help with the above I posted the other day! Thanks RUI!
