New to TRT

Hello all,
Im new to testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) & the board. But here are the facts before i ask questions.

Im 41 weighing 230-240ibs. Over the past year I dropped down from 330ibs. Have weight trained since 15 with some off years in which i starting weighing over 300ibs for 10 years. Never tried any anabolics. Have a good base of muscle.

Now to current events. Ive been trying to lose the last 30ibs for a year, however my body has fought me every step of the way. ive dropped carbs, cut cals & still can't get below 230 consistently. Started noticing sex drive was diminishing, no morning wood, soft in the waist and thighs, gyno, moody, weaker on some of my lifts, all of this happening despite my lifestyle change for the better & constantly training. So when i scheduled a appt with my urologist who i have a good relationship with & I mentioned these things to him & he suggested to bloodwork and give a semen collection. Bloodwork came back with Test serum @ 225, LH 19 & FSH 26.5 & estrogen high. He told me after he gets back the second semen sample he will decide what he was going to prescribe me. Because I still want try to have 1 more child, he stated that he would decide if he will prescribe hcg w/ the test & a AI.

My question is what should i expect with this type of treatment? My main thing is getting rid of the pms symptoms of water rentention & slow fat/weight loss that im experiencing during this severe plateau.

Thanks

Maybe I'm just an idiot but considering your FSH and LH are high and test is low that would tell me your nuts are dead. Happens to the best of us. Looks like you need testosterone injections.

Sounds like he's on the right track. Keep us posted on what's scripted and how.

Thanks,
Ive already fathered a child 12 years ago & would like to father another, however if I can't get the nads to work again then so be it. As long as this type of therapy helps to lower my estrogen levels so that I can lose weight & increase my test levels for a "life performances" Then Im all good[FTV][/FTV]

Just heard back from the Dr. he rx'd me Clomid to start. He wants to see if he can raise it that way first before introducing test. It will be a 3 month trial period & then we will retest. I read the other thread recently where someone else Dr. went with that protocol first. So im hoping this gets things moving in the right direction..

A Clomid restart makes sense but man testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) will absolutely change your life for the better. I went on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) over 5 years ago and it was an amazing boost to my energy, mood and libido not to mention the added horsepower in the gym.

Good luck brother and keep us posted.

I'm sure the road will lead to full testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) if the clomid trial doesn't produce the desired results. Im lifetime drugfree & dropped over 90ibs of lard (with about 30 more to go), my strength is still above the line even with this anchor around my neck(low test) unknowingly. My plan is play it patient & see what works and what doesn't, be an empowered patient & work along with my urologist and get it right.

thepower,
Sounds like you've got your priorities straight....good luck. I think there are probably several different ways we can get to where we want go. Keep us posted on your progress. I need your patience, I want everything...now! lol.

Congrats

Congrats on the weight loss!! Looks like you have a good doc there.. He seems to be on the right track? Although, 3 mnths seems a bit long for the clomid restart.. I hope he will be testing your blood throughout that time.. Also, I've heard of guys responding well to the restart just to find their test levels drop back down after a couple months.. I'm not trying to discourage you from the restart; just a little info to keep in mind.. Welcome aboard and keep up the hard work!

Ha ha, I can understand your angst. However if you stay steadfast & focused on the task, all that other stuff will come. testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) or any other treatment wont be as affective as it could be if your diet & training are not dialed in as well. With diet being the number one priority..

Thank you 2838
I have a face to face meeting with him on the 19th, so Ill inquire as to his game plan & add any suggestions I find on the board. I do believe that he went with the clomid 1st because I told him I wanted to atleast try for another child, because he stated he would of went straight to the test rx if I had decided not to try to conceive w/wife.

Thanks Heavy Iron

Update
About a week in with the clomid, can't say ive noticed anything so far. Anything I should notice while on it? Ill see my urologist on Monday & plan to make some suggestions such as adding Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) & arimidex to the mix. Clomid alone wont bring down my high estro.

Met with the Dr on Monday, He is going to add Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) w/ a Aromatase inhibitor (AI) to the mix in January. He suggested the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) run for 4 weeks & then re test. I also added calcium D glucarate to the mix to combat my high estro levels.

The Doc rx'd a 4 week run of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) to be taken 250IU x 3 a week. He stated to run that by itself for 4 weeks then resume the clomid.

My metabolism is still sluggish. I decided to run some T3 during this time to get things moving.
