Nutrition Shakes while on Juice

Booger1

Stickboy - not for long
Stats today:
Height: 5'10
Weight: 160 lb
BF: 12%

I plan on doing my first (bulk) cycle around November. I aim to gain about 15 -20 pounds of solid muscle while keeping BF% as low as possible. I dont think this is the right forum to discuss what compounds would be suitable for these goals and I hope to focus just on the nutrition aspect here.
Most of the stuff I have read (and probably misunderstood) so far seems to suggest that in order to get up to 180 lbs I should strive for a clean 3000 - 4500 calories ED with most of them coming from protein (450 - 550 gms a day) and from carbs ( 500 -600 grams). I think I would like to keep my fats to just about enough to help maintain healthy joints and support cholesterol and heart functions. Fish Oils, Flax seed, Olive oil would be my main sources of 'clean' fats.

Now, keeping in mind that I am hoping for the mythical lean bulk, about would be training for hypertrophy using the principles of 5*5 routines, how will you answer the following questions:

Question 1
In combination with 50 mg Dbol ED and 500 mg TestE weekly, 550 gms of protein ED would be enough to:
A) Ensure proper recoveries.
B)Not only ensure proper recoveries but also replenish glycogen stores. If you want lean lower the carbs.
C) This question is wrong you dont know what the fudge you are talking about!!
D) ???

Question 2
How do nutrition shakes (in combination with multi vitamins, multi minerals and extra Aminos/BCAAs) stack up again real fork and knife meals:
A) They are supplements so use them to supplement your daily meals not in place of your meals.
B) Heck drink 10 of them shakes a day if you trust the product and can afford it. But make sure you get at least a solid breakfast, post work out meal and a real dinner.
C) Its just placebo effect those bottles are full of sugar water dont waste your money and go buy some steak you pansy!!
D)
Question 3
For my post workout shake, what if I mix 10gms of BCAAs, 10 gms of Glutamine, 10 gms of creatine and two scoops of Isopure zero carb to a bottle of GNC Mass XXX (nutritional facts in Image 17)?
A) Good idea. You will get 900 'clean' calories, 100 gram protein, 125 carbs and only 2 gm fats. Solid, you are a genius Boogey!
B) Well, that's a lot of nutrition to throw into the body at one time... even while on juice. You are taking like 5 shakes a day so spread out the powders. Make sure you get a nice meal within an hour after workout and restrict your Post-workout shake to ...(these numbers)...
C) Adding the creatine, glutaine etc is a good idea since body will be prime for uptake but change the drink to GatoradePro3 (image 18) because the carbs would be more reasonable.
D)???

Besides the shakes, my diet would consist mainly of white rice, chicken and steak along with oats, eggs and maybe some fat free milk.

This is my first post in the diet forum and while I have spent considerable time researching I understand this is an immensely complex subject and I am sure I missed a ton of stuff and I look forward to your advise.
Thanks.

Really? And here I was thinking I was feeling good about asking such a fiiine looking question. :(

Question 1
550 g of protein a day is a little overkill IMO

Question 2
Use them in between meals. Try get one which is low in sugar, Reflex has 1.5 of sugar per 30g

Question 3
I would spread all 3 evenly throw out the day.

Question for you how much water are you drinking because your going to need alot for your body to deal with all that.

Thanks for the response mate I was starting t have flash backs of prom night :p
To answer your question, I drink at least a gallon a day could easily up it to 1.5 or more if required. What do you suggest?
Also, if 550gm protein ED is overkill then what would be a good number and why? How do you calculate the ideal number? How about carbs?

1 Gallon should be fine.

Most say 0.5-1g of protein per lb of is needed to build muscle Personaly i go with 2g per lb
So try get around 350g
End of the day its up to you.
But 550g is to much

I use this when bulking

Free Fat Loss Calorie Calculator

Type in what your goal is and let it do the magic

The "Daily calories to maintain weight" is good for letting you know what you need.
From there you can add calories to that number to suit your style of bulk dirty or clean.

If you do it right it should tell you how much calories protein carbs and fat you should aim for per meal depending on the
"Macro nutrient Ratios" you picked.

Hope this Helped.

That looks like a useful calculator blaze thanks for the link.

I was thinking of taking high protein because i was under the impression that the protein can help replenish glycogen stores. If this is true then i can afford to keep carbs low and still ensure completely replenished glycogen stores for the next workout.
Am I correct in thinking that protein can help replenish glycogen stores? If so then is 550 a day, along with some carbs enough to ensure proper recoveries AND full glycogen re-synthesis?

all input is appreciated.

You have misunderstood, your no where close to being ready for 450+ grams of protien, dont waste your money, and 500-600 grams of carbs is retarded overkill.. we'll fix that though

drop the 5x5 for a 5 day split, one muscle group a day.. does it make sense to juice and only workout 3 times a week?

Supplimets for protein and calorie purposes are worthless next to real food with the exception of one whey shake pwo.. and one casein shake before bed.. and i dont like the latter.. u can eat a lean beef before bed and that would work much better imo.. its a financial thing for most

EAT REAL FOOD, WEIGHT GAINERS ARE CRAP!!

tdee 2700 calories...

"lean bulk" 3300 calories

300g protein
350g carbs
76g fats

mind u i still think this amount of protein might be overkill for you.. u could prob get away with 250...

im guessing through all your extensive research that you've done on this forum you've read my free diet advice thread?? esp the first post??

those shakes suck. absolutely nothing in them except protein thats going to be in and out in 45min for the most part. if your going to go the shake route "lean body" and "metr-x" both have some decent ones with a nice variety of vitamins/minerals as well as good fats and a decent mix of pro/carb.

I always prefer real food, but in a pinch or if time doesnt allow it, your not going to find many other deals where you can get a decent meal for $1.50 a serving.

Agree 100%..i was overkilling it for a while. ive noticed tons better results since lowering the protein intake and relying mainly on food.
