Paleo/Primal Diets

Anyone here following these principles regarding food selection?

I have been using a modified version for years, but recently made the full switch and have never felt physically better. My workouts suffered a bit in the beginning as I switched substrate utilization, but quickly rebounded.
 
I've been reading the theory and philosophy behind the paleo diet and it all makes sense, glad to hear some actual positive backup from someone trying it out! Did you follow the paleo guidelines and drop all grains and engineered carbs to initiate it then taper some back in? That was my "in a nutshell" understanding of it, basically dont eat it unless it walks, runs, swims, flys, or grows from the earth
