polydextrose

Ok so i do a generally lowish carb diet and have formed a slight addiction to diet soda which i am trying to get rid of.

I drink plenty of water but i gotta be getting me some flavor! So anyway I got my hands on some sugar free aloe vera stuff from the local asian grocer, it has lie 16g of carbs per 180ml of which i would suspect mainly comes from polydextrose? as every other aloe drink i have seen that is not sweetened has virtually 0 carbs.

So what i was wanting to know is the carbs in polydextrose mainly all fibre? I know this stuff has been recently added to many low fibre foods and baking products, not to mention it made me crap like crazy?
