Problem resolved by educating my doctor!!

Not Novice, But Not Pro
Background: A couple days ago my doctor wanted to reduce my dose of T so as to get it down to 28 (Canadian measurement) which he said was 1000 (USA measurement). I went back today and showed him how to convert Canadian numbers to US numbers as he did not know how to do it!!! He is a TRT specialist!!! The 28 was only equal to 800 and not 1000 as he had thought. I'm amazed that I have to educate my Doctor who took extra two years of study in the field of hormones. The good news is that he will work with me to get me better and will increase my dose in time if necessary. Seems like a good guy.

For those Canadians who are on this forum, trying to convert from Canadian to US (ng/dl to nmol/L) here is a website calculator..

I paraphrase the advice given here often: 'Learn all you can, because you'll need the knowledge to get proper treatment'.

My thanks to all those that helped on my previous post.

Whats your dose?
That might have more to do with it then the level itself.
I would not waste time educating your doc. These guys really dont want to be told what to do from their patients.
Even though the bulk of them need remedial training in TRT.

My doc, thankfully, is open to hearing what I have to say because he knows/we discuss what I have researched. Example, frequency of injections being closer = better, giving raloxifene a shot instead of tamox for gyno reversal. Had that been any other doc... Pfft. So damn lucky.

At worst, if your doc won't budge, show them evidence on paper/studies etc. Surely, they will either be red-faced and get defensive or will take on the advice and it benefits you and everyone else. What do you have to loose, a doctor that is no good anyway?

My apologies to all. I have two threads on basically the same subject. I thought the old thread about 'Optimizing in Canada' was dead, so I summarized the outcome and added the link in this new thread.

APOLLON, I really appreciate your help on this as you are in the same system, the Canadian system. I replied to you on the other thread, but I noticed you asked my dose here. I take 150 mg per week.

That is not an easy task sometimes. Good for you brother, if your doctor will not listen to reason, I say find one who will.

I think he's starting to listen. But I have to bring the answers to the discussion. I have to become as knowledgeable as possible to get good TRT
