protein absorbtion

its a good questions.. i dont think powdered fiber would help..

think about things that would absorb the protein shake in.. like for example pwo i like a white bagel with my shake.. well if you know anything about bagels, when they get wet the absorb the water.. same thing with a shake.. it would slow down the digestion of the shake, which means more absorption.. not by much, but still more.. liquids pass through your system fast.. that's just how your made..

this is all hypothetical btw.. just by exp and possibility

that's a umm.. very interesting avi u got there buddy.. ouch...

Curious..may sound silly. but would adding fiber powder to my protein shake increase nutrient absorbtion at all?

my initial thoughts would be no since fiber doesn't absorb or digest. I'm thinking it would just pass thru and not help absorption of protien at all but I'm wrong all the time in my house :D

I like the idea of a white bagel. I might do that. I mix blend my shakes with oatmeal..kinda for the same idea. it at least helps me to not get the shits either way

yea..pretty nasty tattoo huh lol.

I have talked to lots of individuals who find that when they first start eating raw eggs they won't digest them well, but after a few days their body adapts. Your body can change to eating different foods quickly, it is a matter of getting used to it.

I agree with 3J here....in order for protein to be utilized it has to be absorbed in the intestine, broken down into aminos an transported to a cell (better with carbs). Supplemental fiber may speed up the rate of digestion, and possibly restrict protein absorption.
