Protein Amount for Natural Builder

Hey guys,

I have had alot of arguments with a few people (mainly nutritionists) about what my protein intake should be.

Right now, I am 284.5 @ 29% bodyfat (206 lbs LBM) trying to get down to about 230. This is down from 342.5 at somehwere around 40-45% bf.

But anyway, what should be the amount of protein i take in each day? I take in right now about 250-300g a day, depending on if its HIIT day or weightlifting day.

Right now I do a 4 day split, heavy 4-6 rep ranges.

I am purely natural, don't take steroids, don't take any supplements at all, and want to keep it that way.

So for a natural builder like myself, what should I take in for protein? Ive argued with nutritionists because they say i only need a few more grams of protein a day (like 120g a day of protein) to put muscle on, since I am not doing steroids, and I don't need 1.5g-2.0 per LBM to build muscle. I think I do need this much, but they tell me u know, that we are overdoing it bigtime.

I would appreciate comments from experienced lifters if possible.

If you would, please give what I shoudl take in while cutting, and then what I should take in while bulking.

Would be appreciated.
 
Why would a nutrition type person tell me that 1g per LBM is too much? WHy do you think someone believes in that type of philosophy?

Personally, i haven't experimented and tried to eat like .6g per LBM while bulking, but it just doesnt even seem close to enough for me.
