Protein and supps for women??

OK at the guaranteed risk of looking like a fool...I have to ask..

Im trying to get my girl started on dieting, she will need protein, I am sure she can take what I take which is a very low carb ISO protein which is I guess Im answering my own questions.

Can women take most of the whey proteins us men take? Im guessing as long as they are low calorie its good right? I mean the point is shes trying to lose weight.

For now she will share my protein...but is there any other brand or kind of protein that would better benefit her or suit her? Im posting this question cause i looked it up myself and got confusing answers all over the web, including names of other "woman" only proteins...but protein is protein correct?

Any other supps you ladies can recommend?

I use a zero-carb and a low carb whey protein for my shakes, but I mix it with almond milk (low calories and fat with zero natural sugars), and I only do one a day, post work-out. All the other protein I get is from whole food (lean fish, chicken, and beef, egg whites, tuna, greek yogurt, low fat cottage cheese).
As far as other things, I'm a fan of Optimum Nutrition's Platinum Pre-Workout and also their Amino Energy.
 
Hey thanks imworthit for the response and advice..Ive also taken that ON pre workout and enjoyed it .
