in no this may sound stupid but how much protein can you get in a day without it going to waste im 5'8 180lb. i assume their is a limit to protein intake

theres no real limit.. i mean, you'd be stupid to eat 400g protien at your weight.. stop worrying about how much protien you'll waste.. find your total energy needs, pick a macro split, and follow it..

i eat up to 80g protien per sitting at times.. i dont believe u need to eat that much..

there are guys that say your body cant take in more then 40g protein at a time.. i say bullshit..

so just make a macro split

for example.. if you wanted to do a 40/40/20 split at 3000 calories it would look like this

300g protein 40%
300g carbs 40%
66g fats 20%

What a timely thread, I almost pm'd you but saw this thread so I figured I'd ask here. What happens to excess protein? Best I can tell from my google searches is it's broken down to amino acids which are further broken down into starches and sugars? Is that right? I'm pretty good about my portions most of the time but trying to figure out if I overdo it with protein should I then eliminate my carbs and fats in those rare instances?

remember that protein is not just for muscle hypertrophy.. its also used for many other functions of your body like hormone maintenance.. excess protien will be converted to glycogen and used as energy...

guys, if you take a urine test and your passing protein, you have kidney problems... i would know, i just had to deal with this non-sense, ended up being a false alarm.. (I wasn't passing protein, but my creatnine levels were out of range).

stop worrying about eating too much protein.. dont get me wrong, dont overdose on protein, follow your own needs.. protein is the most expensive of the three main macros.. so only use whats needed..

unless your a pro bb, you dont need to eat past 300g.. peroid.. even at my size..

Not worried at all about my protein intake, it was more of a curiosity question as it was a question on a recent exam that i got wrong

i know i don't "need" more than 300g but sometimes my eating gets the better of me :D

Hello Friends........

The recommended amount of protein for a healthy adult is 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of bodyweight. Since a kilogram is roughly equal to 2.2 pounds, that translates into .36 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight.

Thanks

I just prefer for that to my gym trainer. The reason is that in the market there are many protein powders available. So, it is beneficial to concern to the doctor or the trainer.

Which protein powder is better for me. I have 56kg. And i want to make 60 up kg within 3 to 4 month.

Well I think that If you want to get big and strong, don't forget to take your protein powder, it is really necessary, human body needs protein daily because that is what muscles and tissues are built from, and there is no place where the body can store extra protein.

Well, it is an interesting article about men's health. It is necessary to decide on health. I appreciate your valuable information. Another thing is that most of the will of man to preserve the health of the exhibition and take unnecessary proteins, which are harmful to the heart.
