I have been noticing a big backlash on women who have muscle. Now I do get that when the face starts looking pretty manly thats a turn off. I do get when the women becomes a tranny a turn off. However here is what I do not get:

A women who still has a great face but a nice ripped body. (Pauline Nordin is a good example) Why the hate and nasty comments on a women who looks this great!! She does not look like a man to me, face is still great so why the hate?

I have noticed since I have tightened up and am looking nice and muscular or tight not one person has said good job. I mean besides my husband and mom and dad, no one has said one word. Now this goes with the above statement.

Are they really that turned off to a women like Pauline Nordin or are they just plain damn insecure and the women envious.

Alot of humans dont like to see others do well.
Theyre just haters.
Keep doin what makes you happy, and Im sure your really hot.

Do you really believe its as simple as other humans dont like to see other humans do well? Ummm, something to think about.

It dates back to traditions and what society is used to. We have come to idolize a certain look in a woman....Pam Anderson, Paris Hilton, etc. Our "bombshells" of todays society don't have muscle....they are just lean.

Most associate muscle with masculinity as well.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

If Hollywood had a huge female start that had muscles than I bet more of society would start to "get used" or "appreciate" the muscular look more. She would be plastered in mags and such and people would see it more.

I think it's because the differences between women bodybuilders and the average population have increased, both because of changes in bodybuilding and the increasing obesity rate in the average population.

During the late 1970s and early 1980s fitness craze, the "in" thing for women was to be slender, yet have some muscle.

A couple of things have happened since then. First of all, obesity has become much more widespread, and socially accepted. Girls and women who would have been outcast for being fat 30 years ago are accepted socially now.

Bodybuilding (for both men and women) has changed as well.

The difference between the physique of an "average Jane" and that of, say, Iris Kyle, is much greater than the difference between the "average Jane" in 1983 and Rachel McLish.

An average woman in 1980 was probably _not_ overweight. Rachel McLish who is probably natural, is a bit more muscular than the average woman of 1980. Nevertheless, the average woman could pick up weights and aspire to Rachel McLish's physique.

The 2009 average woman is likely overweight compared to the average woman of 1980. Current female bodybuilders probably have several cycles under their belt.

The acceptance of overweight and obesity and sedentariness has caused people to see being in shape as less of an ideal, which is a shame.

I don't really blame the bodybuilders for the rejection problem so much as I blame the larger society. Obviously women need to be very careful when they delve into steroid use but the larger society needs to drop the soda and the video games and to get active.

I really don't think it's jealousy. I'm certainly not jealous of some of the monstrosities out there. I do think some women have taken it way to far.

I am not talking about the extreme cases. But I am not talking the fitness women either. To me they dont even look like they have muscle. I am talking the ones in between. They keep that beautiful face but have a killer body. Pauline Nordin is a great example. However her body is so put down and I think she looks great. Its funny what one person thinks is so beautiful and others find repulsive. I dont get that thinking. Is pauline nordin too extreme????

I think Pauline looks AWESOME! That is my ideal body! I think it is just certain people's prefrence. I think muscular women are super sexy! I get compliments all the time, but I also get the "you look like a man" too. I like my body and that is all that matters.

I agree with you on all that you said. I really am looking good too and loving it. Nice feminine face, but great muscles. I just hope I know when to quit.

i think there is a cut off point when it comes to women and muscles. i think aot of guys find it to be a huge turnoff when a girl is muscular because they are insecure with themselves. I myself dont mind a woman with tone, like fitness model tone but when a woman starts to become ripped ripped and chest muscles start to show above breasts and lats begin to pop noticably it becomes too much. that i consider to be what a man strives to look like. and i dont like men. Pauline nordin as u mentioned is borderline because yes she has a nice feminine face and has pics like this

hot.

then she has these.

vascularity is not a turnon.

just my two cents. in the long run it doesnt really matter what anyone else has to say as long as your happy with yourself.

the striation in the shoulders is very low bodyfat, so she is not always like this, however whats the problem with the first picture? If anything I dont see enough muscle on the first picture? Maybe its my eyesight, the first picture is no where near over developed??? I dont think she is overboard but if she keeps going then its overboard. However here is the REAL JOKE, she says she is NATURAL!! HA!!

now you make a more interesting point, the insecure part. What did you mean by that? How do you know if your lifting weights and want muscle because you insecure??? I wonder is that my problem??? How can you tell?

You know I lift weights because its a mental release for me, I quit 2 major drug addictions, crack and cigarettes and I have had great success with weight lifting to help my stress.

im not saying its your problem... im saying it could be the guys problem, being insecure. and who says you have a problem?

nobody says IM insecure but maybe I am, and dont know it?? Im open minded. I mean most women dont say at 42 years old lets try steroids, right? So there has got to be something not 100 percent right with me.

I doubt you're insecure. You seem to be genuinely pleased with the results you have been making and it doesn't seem like insecurity. I've seen insecurity on an internet forum and you don't have it!

I think that photo of Pauline Nordin is photoshopped. I'm not a big fan of hers just because she seems like one of the more self absorbed fitness models out there. I like Jamie Eason, Jenny Lynn, Zivile Raoudeniene....they are all humble and down to earth.

well its funny the pictures that the person posted of Pauline were kind of the two extremes. There a lot in the middle and as person if you read her blog, she seems all over the place. I dont know any of these people personally but boy she does have a great body!

Thanks yes I dont feel insecure but for some reason I have a need to beat my own records with picking up those damn weights. I broke a new record for myself last week!!!

Thanks all

I honestly believe that most of the people in society look at it differently because like miss muscle said, everyone in the media portrays a "beautiful woman" as a woman that has leanness and definition but not real muscle if ya know what i mean.

The media is so screwed up on whats looks right and what doesnt anyway. As long as some bigtime celebrity does it then its ok and accepted but anyone else and its just being freaky.

I also really believe that muscles obviously give the look of power to any woman and most people are scared of a powerful woman esp. another woman

just sayin

Just do what you want and it will pay off for you.

I learned in 6th grade not to care what other people think if you wanna be somethin in life anyways as im sure most adults realize now.

Just follow your passion and leave everyone else in the fuckin dust.:spin::shoot:
